6.6 ft Inflatable Soccer Ball

Was easy to fill up with the output from the shop vac, but: The thing started deflating 15 minutes after the kids were kicking it around the yard. I think the material is WAY too thin for yard use.

This oversized inflatable soccer ball is clearly built around novelty rather than practicality. At roughly 6.5 feet in diameter, it is more of an event prop than a traditional play item. Build Quality and Materials: The PVC material is about what you would expect for a large inflatable. It is reasonably thick, but not indestructible. Seams appear consistent, and it holds air well when properly inflated. That said, scale works against durability. With this much surface area, it is more susceptible to punctures simply due to exposure. Setup and Inflation: Inflation takes time and requires a pump capable of moving a decent volume of air. This is not something you casually blow up in a few minutes. Deflation is where the process becomes more tedious. Expect roughly 15 to 20 minutes to fully deflate, similar to inflation time. The single-valve setup slows things down, and this is an area where the manufacturer could improve the design. Additional valves would make teardown significantly more efficient. A practical workaround is to reverse airflow on an air pump and use it as a vacuum. Doing so dramatically speeds up the process and makes it far more manageable. Performance and Use: This is where it delivers. It is genuinely entertaining in a group setting. It works well for backyard events, beach days, or anything involving multiple people. Movement is slow and exaggerated due to the size, which is part of the appeal. It is less about playing soccer and more about chaotic, oversized interaction. Practical Limitations: Storage is the obvious tradeoff. Even deflated, it is not small. It also requires a relatively open space to use safely and effectively. Wind can also become a factor outdoors given the surface area. Value: If you are buying this for a specific event or for occasional group use, it justifies the price. If you expect regular, practical use, it will likely feel excessive. Pros: • Unique, attention-grabbing size • Genuinely fun in group settings • Holds air well when intact • Good for events, parties, and outdoor gatherings Cons: • Inflation and deflation both take 15 to 20 minutes • Single valve slows down deflation process • Requires significant space to use • Vulnerable to punctures due to size • Limited practical use beyond novelty Bottom line: A novelty item that succeeds at being entertaining. The extended setup and teardown time, particularly deflation, is the primary drawback and the main reason it does not reach a perfect rating. For the right setting, however, it does exactly what it is supposed to do.

I picked up this giant 6.6 ft inflatable soccer ball, and it’s honestly as fun as it looks. The size alone makes it a hit—whether it’s for the backyard, beach, or a party, people immediately want to kick it around. It turns a regular game into something way more entertaining. The material feels pretty durable for an inflatable. Most of these oversized balls are made from thick PVC or vinyl designed to handle rough play, as long as you’re using them on softer surfaces. That said, I’d still avoid sharp areas just to be safe. It does take some effort to inflate because of the size, so you’ll definitely want a pump. Once it’s filled, though, it holds air well and is surprisingly sturdy for how big it is. The only downside is that because it’s so large, it’s not the easiest to store or transport unless you deflate it. Also, wind can move it around pretty easily if you’re outside. Overall, it’s a really fun, unique item that’s great for gatherings, kids, or just messing around outside.
