Review: Really a life saver after months of dealing with a vicious cycle of BV that I just couldnt shake. - A few months ago I stopped taking the probiotics because the ones I had been using (rephresh pro b) were expensive at $20 for a 1 month supply. But upon stopping it I began a cycle of BV. It would be releived by antibiotics and come back. I did not want to do the antibiotics again. That stuff is so nasty for your body. This product was a last resort for me. I have used all the prescriptions, all the OTC meds, and several homeopathic remedies. Nothing has been a solution. I would only get a few days relief (after a long try) and the smell would come back, usually worse than ever. I decided to combine this product with the use of probiotics(different brand which is around $12 for a 2 month supply -fem flora by Swanson ultra). The femflora has the same CFU bacterial count at 2.4billion (2.5 in the rephresh) plus other beneficial bacteria which may also help you repopulate the bacteria you've killed with your rounds of antibiotics. I was skeptical of this product at first because it doesnt actually contain any of the beneficial bacteria, it would simply facilitate the bacterial growth I want. Which seems better than artificially planting the bacteria there (which can be expensive at $50 for a highly rated one on desertcart). So after just two days use, the probiotic and prebiotic combo seems to be working. There is no smell or discharge, and I feel clean again. I will continue a full course of 15 suppositories and will update 1 week after finishing them. (approx 7/27/14). I will also continue the use of the probiotics in order to keep a supply of good bacteria going. How to use: I found this product easy to use despite no real instructions. I simply cut open the packaging and stuck the suppository on the applicator and inserted it. The applicator is not all that great. If you have leftover applicators from a monistat suppository treatment I would use those instead. I would use this at night. Once it is inserted it will melt, laying down will help the product stay in. Another user suggested using a tampon so that it does not leak out. I used this the first night but I felt as if allowing the oxygen to get in would help the process because the bacteria which cause BV such as Gardenella are anaerobic (non oxygen loving). So do not wear your favorite underwear with this. A note about yeast. I believe that having this product would also help those with chronic yeast because it has been shown that a balance of good bacteria helps establish a good balance of yeast as well. So this may also be worth giving a shot for that issue. Overall I am very please at the moment with this product. And I was very encourage to read reviews about women who have used it for several years with great success. ** A note on the price, I purchased these for 8.99 for each box. HOwever it is on another website for 6.99 with free shipping and a subscribe ans save discount of 20%. Not sure if I can post the name of that site on here. However, just do a search and it would be easy to find. I will be ordering it in the future from that vendor because desertcart cannot price match other website due to supplier costs. But desertcart is great if you need an emergency supply right now. ** UPDATE ** I ended up giving up on this for a while because it seems to get worse rather than better. But I decided to give it another try. It does seem to get worse before it gets better without any other methods. So I decided to do a peroxide douche (1/4 Hydrogen Peroxide 3/4 distilled water) for 5 days 2x a day while doing this simultaneously. It seemed to get rid of the big infection so that the prebiotics could work on building up the good bacteria. I continued using the prebiotics afterwards and the difference is apparent. THere is no smell or discharge and I feel normal again. I ended up finding that using half of the suppository works just as well and is not as messy. I just cut it in half with clean scissors and it goes into the applicator just fine.

A: It doesn't contain any so I empty the powder from a probiotic capsule, moisten this and roll it in the powder until coated and insert it afterwards. This product is a PREbiotic which is food for the PRObiotic. I have cured Yeast infection using the method that I just described.

A: This is a PREbiotic, which means it is FOOD for PRObiotics (ex. Lactobacillus). The actual ingredients that are food for the probiotics are the lactic acid and the fructooligiosaccharide (FOS).

It is ran by professional naturopaths that specialize in vulvo-vaginal issues such as what 'VH Essentials Prebiotic Suppositories' is designed for (such as: BV/YI/odor prevention/elim/etc.) 

What is also a cheap, effective PREbiotic is the "mother" (the stuff that makes the liquid cloudy when shaken or when unshaken it's the dark sediment at the bottom of bottle) in unfiltered apple cider vinegar. 

Like Judy said, I also coat these PREbiotic suppositories with my PRObiotic powder from the capsule. I use 'Jarro-Dophilus Women' 5 billion shelf stable. I utilize the aluminum blister pack 'well' that the capsule is taken out of as the 'boat for my dipping of the emptied VH Essentials prebiotic to actually enable me to coat it... It Just makes that process a bit easier.

**Q: What is the expiration date for your product?**
A: I contacted the company. There is a number on the end of the box that might look like "31413". The last two of these numbers are internal coding and can be ignored. The first two are the month and year of manufacturing. So these were made in 3/14 and according to the company they are good for two years from that date so in this example the product would be good until 3/16.

Ok this is my 2nd time ordering! This product works! Let me explain.... Obviously if you are reading these reviews on amazon you are either a). a frustrated female who needs help, b.) is desperate for a clean feeling Vah-jayjay OR c). you are the man/husband of the female who needs this product and your trying to help her or yourself cuz this can seriously destroy her ability to be comfortable and secure with you in your private moments. LOL Let's cover what it does: 1. removes any and all odor. 2. Keeps the Vah-jayjay fresh and clean feeling and smelling even after washing. 3. Helps with discharge. (If ur unsure c a doctor) 4. Considerably helps with bacteria infections and works to maintain a 'healthy', 'balanced' environment as it relates to our girly parts. Best way to use: 1. after your evening shower (or just before you go to bed) insert 'up and into' your vah-jayjay. Push it waaaaay up in there. You want that good bacteria to get waaaaaay up in there so as to fully do it's work. Comes with an applicator but i got tired of washing the applicator after each use so i preferred to use my fingers and push it up in there, way up there ladies. Can't put enough emphasis on the 'waaaaaay' part! laugh ....seriously! 2. put a thin panty liner on and go to bed OR lay down for a long time. 3. You want the good bacteria to stay in there and do it's work while you sleep. yes it may leak out but only a little but who cares right. i make sure to turn on all sides except i'm not a back sleeper, so as to coat all sides fully during the night. 4. The liquid that comes out is like water, clear, non-smelling. The liner absorbs the liquid and by the morning time with your first pee of the day it's pretty much all out. You can remove the panty liner and go on about your day or replace it for a few hours if your want to feel safe. My experience: I will forever and always use this product. I get so annoyed and frustrated just thinking about how women are NEVER told about good bacteria and the need for it. The dr, nor gynecologist...etc. EVER discussed this with me. So i knew i had to BE SMART and find the SOLUTION because i wasn't willing to suffer from a bacteria infection again. (My husband also was so sensitive in helping me so he looked in medical books about bacteria infections...etc. He's so sweet! .......Not in 'manly feminine' way - it was more of a....... 'manly .....let me help YOU, help ME honey!' kind of way cuz it affected him too!) Laugh! How I personally use this product: while i was using monostat to get rid of my hot as FIRE, ITCHY, vah-jayjay symptoms! ...not kiddin' (i can laugh about it now but it wasn't funny then). I inserted one every night for a week. A reviewer posted some good tips on using it at night which i readily applied and will speak to below. Within that time ( a week) not only did the infection go away but the smell was gone. What!? noooooohhhh.......WHAT!!!!???? ....are you kidding me, ....wow! i was floored. and i mean the smell was gone for days after i stopped using the product. So with my main goal accomplished - which was to get rid of the bacteria in-balance, which cleared up the infection. I was ecstatic and empowered to perform some tests with the product. My 2nd goal was to test this out more thoroughly. So!..... i knew that if i stopped using the product my vagina and all it's parts would quickly get out of balance and an over growth of some type of bacteria would return. That's just natural fact and i get that! But i wanted to know for how long could i go without taking the product before i started to smell again. With the help of my husbands feedback in conjunction with my tests i found - that for me personally i can use the product, as indicated above, every 3 days and stay clean and fresh smelling. a perfect functioning V. That is, one application for every 3 days (ofcourse i probably used it daily for 2 weeks straight prior to my tests) ....Not bad, i'll take that. I am 'inlove' with this product, it is my secret weapon and i feel so empowered and confident knowing and..... FEELLING super clean when i get out of the shower, that i can go my entire day 24hrs and be fresh and clean, even for days after discontinued use. At almost 50yrs old i was finally able to have a moment with myself where i said, 'Now this is how my V is supposed to be!' Only a female can truly appreciate that. For the price of this product AND if you are having any difficulty with your plumbing downstairs i strongly suggest you just try this product and see how quickly your body just soaks it up, responds to it, and loves this product. Now what have i tried over the years (since my 20's); to remove the odor even after washing, which did help some what but never as fully and completely as this product? Here is my list: Various supplements including super expensive probiotics by mouth (never helped even a tiny bit, infact! that can often alter my smell and not in a positive way) apple cider vinegar (after washing pour in hand and rub it all over and let it dry, no rinsing no dilution) Colloidal Sliver Spray (after washing spray all over vagina) this was more helpful than the above 2 listed items. 3% sulfur soap (before washing lather your girly parts up and let sit while in the shower washing other body parts, then finish with rinsing and washing V again with regular soap. And YES this burns, uuuummmmm .......yeah that's all i'll say about that one! LOL ) This was even better then the above but i liked to use in conjunction with the silver spray. I used the last two items for YEARS because it helped me manage the issue; but i still suffered in silence and shear confusion until i did research on good bacteria and tried this product. I am happy to say i do NOT NEED any of those items any longer. I just ordered another box today as i will be using my last one tonight. i am not able to find them in stores but i am happy to order online. I will use good bacteria on and in my girly parts until the day i die people!!! I'm not kidding, this is serious business for a woman. The beauty of this is it's SO SIMPLE, it makes sense, it works very effectively! Be patient and watch the changes over the course of a week.
