Dental care in this country is ridiculously overpriced. Even with insurance, it’s a joke because they don’t cover many procedures and have huge deductibles at best. Being able to get retainers like this online is a significant cost savings that really adds value to people’s lives. After paying thousands for braces, I don’t want my teeth to get crooked again nor my bite to be misaligned. My old retainer no longer fits after neglecting to use it for years, but as I age, movement is more of a concern. I found this company, Hillbivi, online, and was initially skeptical. But having gone through the whole process, I’m sold. It’s easy to make a mold using the included supplies, and they have a staff person on email or WhatsApp that will promptly check your impressions to make sure you did it right prior to sending them in. They’ll then send a shipping label, and a few weeks later, voila - your new retainers arrive in the mail. They’re exactly like the old ones I had - the quality is identical as far as I can tell, and the fit is great after a bit of careful loosening of the metal guards with the included pliers. Hillbivi even offers different kinds of retainers, including the clear ones you get with Invisalign. Follow their instructions carefully, choose the right tray size, add no more than 40ml of cold water to the clay powder so it’s not too wet, and stir it quickly. I actually found it easier if I used a few drops less so it’s not too runny, especially for the lower tray. Don’t worry about drips and spills because they’ll peel right off when dry. Just repeat if you mess up - there’s lots of extra cement packs if needed, and I had to redo one of mine. Rest assured, you’ll get it right and be very pleased with all the money you saved. The only thing to note is that it took me about a month to receive from the lab in China, and if you’re without a retainer during this time, your teeth may have moved slightly by the time you get them. Regardless, highly recommend this company for the value and ease.

I decided to get these retainers after my son "lost" my original pair for me a few years ago, and I am generally satisfied. The finished product is great, but it took a lot longer to get than I thought it would. From the time I ordered the impression kit, to receiving the actual retainers was almost seven weeks. After you place your order, you receive an impression kit. After following the directions on the kit to make the impressions, you have to email pictures of the impressions to the company for them to approve. It took me five tries before they approved my impressions. Each time I emailed the pictures, I had to wait for a reply. I will say I sincerely appreciate that they insisted on my impressions being perfect before sending me the shipping label. I sent the impressions the next morning. While the shipping label is addressed to a location in California, the impressions are actually sent to China, which adds a few days to the shipping. Once they received the impressions, it took about 10 business days for them to ship out the retainers to me. Once I received the actual retainers, I still had a little bit of trouble with the fit on the bottom part of my mouth, the area under my tongue. The edge of the clear part of the retainer that sits tightly against that area sliced into my skin, causing my mouth to bleed. I did not take away any stars because the retainers did come with two files to smooth out any edges that did not fit the mouth perfectly. It took me a few tries to get the bottom retainer to fit perfectly, but I was eventually able to get it fit comfortably. While the wires on these retainers do not feel as thick and strong as my original pair, I do feel like they are doing a great job keeping my teeth in place and preventing further shifting that occurred after losing my original pair. They function the way they are supposed to, so I cannot complain. Over all, I am super happy with these retainers because they saved me a ton of money. My orthodontist wanted to charge me over five times what these retainers cost, and I am not down with wasting money. Also, three days after receiving these retainers, my husband found my original pair wedged between my vanity drawer and the wall.

I have ordered other types of retainers from this company and have been satisfied every time, with this retainer set having the same experience. I do not love the process of making the molds, but the instructions are clear on how to get it all done. After emailing my pictures as it says to do, the company responded quickly so I didn't have to wait and come back later to redo the molds. The process is straight forward and not overly complicated. It does take quiet a long time to get the finished retainers, but the cost savings make it well worth it to me.

These kits make getting retainers so easy! And such a great value compared to going to the dentist to get them. The kit comes with impression plates, and material to get imprints of your upper & lower teeth. You can also choose to do 2 lowers, or 2 uppers. I found the impressions easy to do. But if you have any issues, don't worry, there are plenty of materials in case you need to try again. Once the impressions are done, just send them in, and the retainers will show up in a couple weeks. No extra cost. Very nice to have such kits available for home use. I had an upper retainer from my dentist, but I lost it some time back. This was a quick & easy way to get a suitable replacement.
