Anchors Hair Company Strong Hold Water Based Styling Pomade (2.3 Ounce)

The ultimate test. Put the product in. Style your hair. Then let your toddler “style” your hair, then see if you can tame it back down. Mission accomplished. This product smells great, like coconuts and leather as advertised (not necessarily my ABSOLUTE favorite scent tbh, but definitely bearable in a product that works so well). I’m willing to bet you can’t tell which pic is before or after the aforementioned “styling by the toddler” and this is only running my fingers through afterward to restyle. This product is pliable, and remains that way all day, while providing enough weight to keep my hair where I want it for this particular style. Anchors adds a significant amount of moisture to my medium thick and obnoxiously straight hair that normally eats hair product for breakfast and makes it disappear. I did a little trial with about 6 different products so far to replace my previous favorite that was no longer providing the hold I was looking for as my hair has grown out a bit for this style. Sianara shu uemura. Anchors was the first product I received in my little “trial” and I have used it to “fix” every other product since. They are all too dry and don’t provide enough moisture and hold, and I don’t want to use a primer and lock it with hairspray and all that mess every single day. I needed a single product that I can put in, that provides enough moisture and pliability to restyle throughout the day using only my fingers, and gives enough “hold” to keep the butt-cut part from revealing itself as my hair will do if the product is too dry. That was the mission, and mission accomplished. To be completely candid, the ONLY thing that has rendered my hair “not restylable” after using this product is 2+ hours of furious jumpy trampoline time with the kids at one of those jumpy trampoline places. All the bouncing, ninja warrior courses and sweat took anchors down hard. But I will say that is an extreme situation and otherwise this product has exceeded every expectation. Remember it is water soluble, so if you sweat profusely you will either need to wash and restyle or simply reapply product to restyle otherwise. Kudos on a solid product.

Super tiny product but it does smell good seems to have a decent hold but definitely not for someone who has difficult hair. More for someone with a finer to medium texture that doesn’t need to use a lot of product as it is. I’d recommend it but I think there’s better products out there at a lower price point.

This is a great pomade with a strong hold that works great for straight hair like mine. I have thick, straight, Asian hair and it works great. However i cannot say it will be the same with wavy or curly hair. Weather i slick it back or comb it over it holds up great and doesn't budge once tacky from a little blow dry. It will leave white streaks if you add to much so i go little by little additions of pomade at a time till i get the hold i want then i blow dry for a minute and boom its good to go. 10/10 for me.

I was pleasantly surprised by this product. It was smaller than I anticipated (I’m a terrible judge of volume) but the contents pack a punch!! I use it on my toddler because we keep his hair longer than your typical “boy cut”. It last the whole day and then some. The smell is nice. It’s unique. I will be buying it again or branching out to their other products too.

I’m used to pomades that really keep my hair in place, and you can even remodel it during the day when adding water. This is not the case with this product. Gave it 4 stars because of the ethics this company has. The smell and feel of it is pleasant, and while it will help your hair not look like you just out of bed, it definitely does not have a strong hold like it says on the label.

Works well to provide some hold without looking like hair gel.

This is so far from a strong hold matter of fact it’s a very weak hold!, weak being a 1 and strong being a 10 maybe this is a 2.

Waterbased helps. I don't understand why such a tiny jar is so expensive though.
