The Great Adventure Bible Timeline Study Kit: Study Materials

This is a superb course. I was a Protestant for 60 years before becoming Catholic, and I never had any Bible study as enjoyable and as memorable as The Great Adventure Bible Timeline Study. It breaks the Bible into 12 parts and color codes so you can remember it. But best of all for me, since I have read through the Bible at least 10 times, this study shows the "BOOKENDS" between the Old Testament and the New Testament. You learn where/how the events in the Old Testament prefigure the New Testament. For example, the circumcision that Abraham obeyed is a prefiguring for our Baptism as Jesus commanded. Another interesting fact which I learned are the bookends even in the New Testament. Where are there two mentions of a "charcoal fire"? (See if you can answer that question. I couldn't.) First is where Peter denied Jesus three times; the second is where Jesus, after He had risen from the dead, was on the shore with a charcoal fire and fed the disciples fish, and there he asked Peter three times if he loved Him. Again, the BOOKENDS. Jeff Cavens, the main teacher for this study, is beyond superb. I would encourage anyone who really wants to study the Bible to get this series and start it in your church or do for a home/self study. You won't regret it. This is the second year I have done this study, and I am learning anew. Blessings!!

This study kit has been so well received by our study group, that the group is growing and I have had to re-order several times. It has opened the scriptures to us in ways that I can say for many, it has been life changing. Jeff Cavins as a speaker is excellent. The group has no trouble whatsoever staying alert throughout the study. It is one of the first studies where the participants actually do the work and look forward to sharing their answers to the questions with the rest of us. It has lead to stimulating conversations. We are all growing in our understanding of scripture and salvation history. I highly recommend this study kit. The items in the kit are of excellent quality, and very easy to use. I recommend for anyone interested in doing a bible study that they use these in conjunction with the video or audio lecture series also available through Amazon. It's wonderful. This program by Jeff Cavins is the best in my opinion. I have found the material reliable and Jeff's knowledge conveyed in the DVD presentations as truly learned and inspirational. I served as a Director of Religious Education for 31 years in Catholic parishes. My experience went from almost no resource programs for bible study to very difficult resource programs that were too much for beginners. When I encountered Jeff's program, I found it to be a good fit for all types of bible study members, from beginners to those, who have studied the Scriptures for years. His program is full of material to learn, to ponder, and to share. I love that his program gives a structure of the whole Salvation Story to bear in mind, regardless of what book of the Bible one studies. Plus Jeff encourages the practical applications of Scripture to daily life. It is top of the line in my opinion.

I bought this as a part of a Bible study group, and have found it to be very well organized and well thought out. I would recommend this to anyone doing the Bible Timeline Study. It's not probably great to do alone.

I went to our church's bible class once before ordering the material. Couldn't wait to receive it. Took longer than I hoped because Amazon accepted my order then canceled it 4 days later saying it was out of stock. Reordered through another vendor and got it in about another 4 days. Couldn't be happier with the material. There's a lot of reading involved and I wish I had more time to devote to it (I work full-time). Class discussions are excellent and video presentation by Jeff Cavins outstanding!

The vendor, Earth Goods was excellent in getting it to me. The only reason I marked it as a 3 instead of a higher marking is that there were to have been three additional items in with the study materials: 1) a timeline chart, 2) a timeline bookmark, 3) a bracelet. BUT it is 'OK' and we are using the study manual. The missing material would not be a fault of the vendor but the owner did not submit it to them.

My husband and I have completed this bible study multiple times. We learn something new each time. It is well done and has truly helped us to understand our salvation history in a deeper, more intimate way. As volunteer bible study leaders, it has made our "job" easy. The workbook comes with answers which was very helpful at times when we didn't quite understand what the question was asking. The accompanying video was fantastic. It is a great introduction to bible study. We have also completed his study on Matthew, Acts and Revelation - not to be disappointed. Very faithful to the teaching of the Catholic Church.

If you are pursuing to read and study the bible, A catholic bible, that is...this is the way to go. It is even better if you are in a study group, this kit makes you conversed and interact with others. Definitely the one, to date!

This study material is simple and easy to understand and gives the reader an overall view of God's Salvation Plan for mankind!

A very comprehensive and easy approach to learning and understanding the bible. Ideally, it needs to be used in conjunction with the program on EWTN or DVD/CD set available from publishers, although there is enough material within this resource which can be used on it's own. Very easy to follow and understand. It also helps make Bible Study an exciting activity - very enlightening and informative. I have never come across a study so well presented, supported and delivered. For the first time in my life, I have found something I can understand and relate to in a bible study
