How was it?** A: Yes! Not intentionally, but fell asleep during cold winter day and awoke still quite cozy. The pull-out and stretchy straps attached 1 on either side of the heating pad have hook and loop closure patches and give about another 22" which is a total of 38 working length by the time patches are lapped over to hold the pad in place. There is also another stretchy strap that attaches by hook and loop patch to those straps, as a sort of splice or extension between them which is approximately 17" long and that can give about 5 inches more when stretched all the way out so you have about 60 inches total. That extension strap is adjustable to work if you just need a few more inches, or the maximum capable of approximately 60 inches or 5 feet, at least on the one I have. **Q: The description mentions "gel packs". Does it come with a gel pack that can be used with this pad?** A: No, there are no gel packs that come with it. Great for Lower Back Aches *by G***7 on 27 March 2020* I have Parkinson's Disease and one problem I have is a weak lower back. If I twist my body too quickly or in an awkward way, I end up hurting my lower back. It's an old injury I've had since my 20's, but with PD, it can flare up very easily. This pad has a soft fabric, a nice gray color, and is very comfortable. It includes an extension piece so you can add on to the wrap-around belt, fitting it to your exact waist size. It conforms nicely to my back. I am impressed with Sunbeam heating pads--they are excellent quality and reliable. They have designed heating pads a whole new way--gone are the simple rectangles with covers that always manage to come off, or pads that tend to crumple and stay that way until you use them again. These pads retain their shape and don't crumple up. They are much safer, since there's an automatic shut-off. They are designed for certain parts of the body, so they can be fitted and hit the area where heat is needed. I am thankful that Amazon delivered this so quickly during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
