Auto Diagnostic Scanner POR V2.0

If you own a modern Porsche, you already know that even a simple oil change can turn into a headache without the right software to reset the computers. After using the iCarsoft POR V2.0, I can confidently say it’s the best investment I’ve made for my garage. Unlike cheap generic scanners, this actually talks to Porsche-specific modules. I was able to scan the Air Suspension (PASM), Transmission (PDK/Tiptronic), and ABS/PSM systems with dealer-level detail. This tool paid for itself the very first time I used it. It’s rugged, easy to navigate, and gives you the professional diagnostic power needed for a high-performance machine like my Panamera Turbo.

Bought this for my 2020 Macan to reset after changing the oil. Had download iCarsoft for my car, easy download to my computer, updated everything. Tells you everything you need to do.

Arrived, plugged it into my 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 and said file access error. Downloaded the updater - entered all the information and it failed every time at 20% on windows. Tried it on Mac after it failed on windows and couldn’t even recognize the device. So back it goes to Amazon.

I used this on my Cayenne to reset maintenance intervals. It worked great

Bought this specific iCarsoft for my Porsche Macan after returning a unit of the different brand which has useless manual and non intuitive interface. This unit came up after connecting to the OBD port. The VIN number has to be manually inputed vs smart scanned but all functions and steps were straight forward without using the manual. I was able to do oil and maintenance service reset easily and the warning light were off at the restart of the engine. There were also a lot of online posts and YouTube videos on DYI usage to reference. The other brand has a lot of good ratimgs but it’s all about the spec and capability of the tool, not how to use certain function… can’t even figure the format for service date and the customer support in China didn’t respond in 2 days. Much happier with this tool especially it allows battery managemt as I am replacing that soon.

Ordered this to check diagnostics and reset service interval message on my 2014 Cayman S after performing the 60k mile service. Updated the software before using. The process of updating was easy and straightforward. Connected to my car via the OBDII port and was able to reset the service interval warning messages with ease. Went to run a diagnostics and things got a little weird, but I quickly found a work-around. My car was listed in the unit simply as "Cayman", whereas the Boxster shows as "981 Boxster", even though they are essentially the same car mechanically. When connected as "Cayman" the diagnostics features would not work at all. I couldn't look at engine computer information or run diagnostics on any of the car's systems. When I manually switched the unit to "981 Boxster" via the menu system everything worked perfectly. It would be nice if they could make the unit work consistently for the various models it is intended for, rather than having to guess. Still pricey when all I really want to do is reset the service interval (honestly, this should be able to be done from the car itself, without having to hook it up to a computer), but the POR V2.0 is still cheaper than other solutions.

I purchased this tool so that I can reset my oil change light on my 2014 Carrera S (991). I still take it to the dealer and of course it cost a fortune to have the oil changed. I only put about 1200 miles per year on this car. I’ve also decided to have oil changed every other year. Which is probably still overkill. In any case I plugged this unit into the OBD socket in the lower left kick panel. The unit immediately identified the car and walked me easily through the process of resetting the service light for another year. The only thing that was a little bit confusing was when they ask you to enter today’s date for instance. You key it in to the unit year month day running all the digits together. No dashes,spaces or slashes I.e. 20221014. For today’s date, which is October 14, 2022 It would be nice if when you key in the date, it would ask you to Key in month day year. And the option of putting in slashes, periods or spaces between the digits would also help. Rather than running all of the numbers together. I’ll do additional reviews as I do more functions, But for now as far as I’m concerned this gadget has already paid for itself. And it’s giving me a little bit of control over my car rather than having to rely on the dealer or a shop to do the simple little function. I’m also looking forward to being able to install my own battery when the time comes. I know that on a lot of these new cars you have to reprogram the cars computer every time you put a new battery in. Again that adds a few hundred dollars on the service if you have the Porsche dealer do it.

Der Karton sah schon sehr gebraucht aus und wurde mit Tesa zugeklebt. Auf dem Karton war ein Aufkleber von Amazon, dass das Produkt intern repariert wurde. Amazon hat hier scheinbar eine Retoure verkauf. Auf dem Display erscheint Error 00. Unbrauchbar.

- contacted iCarsoft before purchase and they reply that Cayman Boxter (982) are still not supported - read some forums and find out it does work but need to use Boxter (981) option for your 982 - purchased anyway, what I can lose, only 250 CAD :) - Seller Davin Electronics excellent and supportive in this difficult times - Received and updated immediately, before even connected to the car. Update level (Firmware V20.04, Porsche V11.30, RESET_PORSCHE V11.30). Followed instructions for update to the "T" and it works flawless (as it should) - connected to the car (Cayman 982) - Please note that for Diagnostic you can choose Boxter (982) and for Oil Reset you can choose Boxter (981) or Cayman(981), no 982 option for oil reset. I choose Cayman (981) and reset didn't work. Than I choose Boxter (981) as advised on the forum and it DOES WORK. - After reset (just type in the date in iCrasoft POR V2.0 device), no message on instrument cluster; just turn the key off and remove the key. Then turn it back on and "Oil maintenance now" disappear. - I didn't try any other function - Now, the strange part. I have typed in the date in the next year (5/2021). On my Porsche Connect app it shows correctly, but on the car itself it shows "Oil change in 15000 km 5 / 2022" therefore the year after. I don't know if somebody would bother that car reminds him or her one year later. Computer can say whatever it wants, and you are the one to change the oil. Hmm. I guess. ******* - Edited: when you type the date, you need to type in the current date, therefore the device and car computer will calculate and show the next service date correctly. For instance, you type Aug, 2023 as current, the software on the car will show next oil service in Aug 2024 and next intermediate service in Aug 2025 with respective amount of kilometers as alternative. ******* - The device is fast as any other OBD device, saying this because some complaint that this device is slow - Thank you iCarsoft being honest, thank you Davin Electronics. - If iCarsoft want me to test some functions they can contact me directly thru my email in their database. I have iCarsoft POR V2.0 and the car is 2019 Cayman (982) Manual transmission.

Does all the good scan tool stuff like unlock electric rear park brake for when changing pads, reset oil change warning etc. I know have 3 of these (one for each model car I have). Would have been cheaper to buy the icarsoft unit that does many different makes.

In short: -This tool does exactly what it supposed to do -Super easy to use -Able to pinpoint specific issues with vehicle Longer Version: I bought it when I bought a Porsche Cayenne and it has been super helpful in diagnosing issues. Being able to actuate certain parts of the vehicle is super helpful in pinpointing and diagnosing issues which at the very least can give your mechanic direction, or get parts ordered ahead of time. I had an issue with my cayenne that could have been A LOT of different things from fuel, to spark to air to transmission, etc. with this tool I was able to pinpoint that it was a fuel issue and then narrowed it town with other functions of this tool, to the high pressure fuel pump wiring This saves me a bunch of money replacing parts unnecessarily or paying mechanic to find the issue It really is a must have tool if you own a Porsche and unlike some other ones I was reading about, this is extremely user friendly. Even if you have no diagnostic experience, you can use this tool effectively
