Excellent retro arcade machine
I love Arcade1up!! This my second arcade purchase from this company. And it's great, just like I remember from the original. Very well packaged. Not difficult to assemble. And looks and works great. The feel of the buttons and joysticks are perfect. The screen is sharp and bright. Sound has adjustable volume. You can even play online. Fyi, this version does not have the lighted up marquee. But it still looks great in original font and style. The selection of Midway games is more than enough for many days of serious gaming. Definitely worth every penny!!

Great for the money
So I grew up in the 60s and the 70s this thing came out somewhere late 70s I believe. Anyway, if you’re from my generation, you know what I’m talking about. This was the coolest game at the time they put it in this place called the Yellowstone bus company in Cardiff. We used to go out and smoke weed buy some donuts from VG donutsand come back and spend all our remaining quarters in it before the game announced famously “wizard needs food. Wizard is about to die” when the life score got low . All the different arcade games for my generation nothing matched up to it and I think if you wanted to buy one of those arcade games, they were really expensive at the time so I just recently stumbled across this and for $345 you can put together a mini arcade that if you had this when you were in your teens, you would’ve been in paradise. The whole thing weighs about 45 pounds max maybe 50 you can buy the original gauntlet arcade game now but the problem is it’s about $3500 and it weighs 350 pounds plus you have to take it apart partially to get it into a normal front door. 45 pounds is way better than 350 pounds and it’s it’s great. It’s just like going back in time. It’s just a little short and a little small.

A good bit of nostalgia for casual people
I received this for Christmas, and it’s pretty awesome. Up front you should know, a lot of the negative reviews are focused on the fact that this is not a “full sized” arcade cabinet, that it does not have a light up marquee at the top, and that the screen size is a 15” display that displays in 16:9 widescreen format (meaning the games run in old school square screen or 4:3 “full screen”, and there is graphic artwork on either side of it since it’s in widescreen format, so it’s a smaller screen). So, obviously, if you’re some hardcore arcade enthusiast that’s looking for something perfect and authentic, you probably want to go the Deluxe route. That being said, I’m not that. I’m far more casual, and this cabinet is just perfect for having that cool, arcade touch, without the few hundred extra bucks and it taking up more space. You’ll need to get a riser or construct a riser of your own, because after you assemble it, it’s about 4 feet tall (meaning that, if you sat in a folding chair in front of it, you’d be fine to play it). Before I got a riser, I put it up on an end table (see pictured). The games are fun, there’s WiFi, online leaderboards, and online play as well. Overall, I’d say it’s a fun machine, easy to use, though you will be fully assembling it when you get it. TL; DR: It’s a good 3/4 size cabinet, it functions well, probably not for hardcore enthusiasts, but perfect for the casual fan and those needing space-saving.

Very fun
Works great! Fairly straightforward to assemble. Definitely need the riser with it, as they recommend.

Good budget arcade but I definitely recommend getting the riser as well.
This is the 'Classic SE' version of Mortal Kombat II, which comes with a smaller 15.6" screen and has a cabinet that is not as deep as the 'Deluxe' or original cabinet versions. The width of approximately 19" is the same as the deluxe version however. With this version you get an 'unlighted' Marquee at the top of the cabinet, but you do have 2 speakers under the Marquee with decent stereo sound and volume and I like the new cabinet side graphics that they chose for this model. Yes, assembly is required and I had it up and running in under an hour. Make sure your speaker wire is loose (untied) and running through the back of the cabinet as per the assembly pictures prior to fastening the side panels and pay attention on how to attach the joystick knobs using the little included wrench. Watching the company's videos online can make assembly go a little smoother. The 'Classic SE' comes with several versions of Mortal Kombat, giving you a total of 13 classic arcade games. So far, my personal favorites are Defender and Gauntlet. It also has a 'Live' WiFi feature that allows you to play online, but I haven't really checked that out other than downloading the App and connecting it to my network. The height of the cabinet is also less than 46" tall, so if you are an adult, I 'highly' suggest you get the riser which is sold seperately in order to play standing up comfortably. Note: The new 'SE' riser version looks much better than previous versions (in my opinion) and makes it look like it is part of the cabinet (unlike the original risers). I have attached a picture of my cabinet with the riser installed. The riser will bring the height up to the just under 60", which is about the same height as the 'Deluxe' version at a fraction of the price. I am 5'9" tall and feel the height with the riser installed is quite comfortable for game play. (*You have to specifically purchase the 'Classic SE' riser for this cabinet.) Overall, If you don't mind the smaller screen this is a decent budget arcade that I consider a good purchase while it's on sale. If you shop around for the SE riser, you can get it and the Mortal Kombat II cabinet for around the four hundred dollar range. If you are one of those arcade snobs, this really isn't for you. Its for the rest of us who just want to play some classic arcade games on a budget and I'm sure this is going to get a lot of family gameplay over the holidays. I should also note that 'Arcade1up' has just been acquired (within the last few days) by 'Basic Fun Inc.' who state they are comitted to provide support for existing games and customers.

Excellent achat
