ASUS ROG Xbox Ally Handheld Gaming Console

Love my rog and take it every where with me to play xbox or pc games, its so much more than a simple hand held gaming device, in windows mode it turns i to a full pc and can be used as one along with mouse and keyboards, connect to the tv fkr a large screen or use the built in screen fkr on the go, steam works well and its fully customisable, yiu can actually upgrade internals for higher pc specs and battery life aint bad. Recommend buying a doc also if running it as a pc at home using a monitor/tv just for ease of hdmi and charging otherwise just use as is. Graphics are good and the built in fans are really atromg and cool the device in seconds to prevent over heating. Memory is limited so if u want more get the other rog or purchase a large sd card or upgrade the internal memory.

Why is this so cheap? I cannot understand why this is so cheap? This device is crazy good. I own several handhelds AYN Thor, SteamDeck, PS Portal and a whole bunch of others (yes I have a problem). When I saw this at the price it is, given the memory and storage shortage driving prices through the roof and every other manufacturer putting prices up I thought it was a mistake.Don't underestimate though, this is not a device for kids or people new to gaming, this is not an XBOX (despite the branding) it is a PC and as such needs to be configured and tinkered with but that flexibility gives great options, after about 3 hours of tinkering I got this exactly how I wanted.I'm playing modern AAA titles on it and it is breezing through. it's comfortable to hold, and those speakers OMG the sound is incredible. The joysticks are nice an responsive with precision input and the buttons are easy to press.Of course at this price point it is not perfect, the screen is "OK" and when in windows mode using the touchscreen is clunky and the battery life when pushing it hard is rubbish, this is a device you need to plug in to the wall or carry around a high powered battery bank, if you play lighter titles and reduce the wattage then you can get decent battery life.There are way more positives than negatives and currently this is my number 1 device. I simply cannot believe or even fathom to understand how Asus are able to sell this at the price it is, if I didn't know better and someone showed me this and said they paid over £1,000 for it, I would not doubt them.

Wow, excellent, great sound, great graphics, great power, plays and streams games nicely

If your new to the handheld space this things pretty darn cool it's one of the most comfortable handheld I've held it beats the steamdeck on that front but I'm gonna be honest my steamdeck oled which uses the same apu (CPU/GPU) my deck during testing beated this guy I'm gonna chalk it down to windows using too many resources but it is a really nice experience it's comfortable to hold the apu is efficient and as long as you fiddle a little bit with windows it's a really nice experience but imo id recommend either a secondhand Asus Rog ally z1extreme model its double the performance of this guy and the steamdeck or or a legion go s with the z2 go as yes the z2 go is weaker than the z1e it is better than this Xbox Rog ally and if you really want the best get a MSI claw 8 ai it's my favourite handheld it outperforms the z2 extreme on the new legion go 2 and the Xbox ally x by about 15 to 20fps and it's efficient too, it isn't that comfortable I'm gonna be honest but the screen is gorgeous and the performance and battery life are just chefs kiss but I will be returning this in a couple days when I'm not busy and able to wait in all day for the DHS guy to pick it up from me

Fine the first week. Then kept on crashing and turning off. Lag on the game even with low specs. It just can’t manage. Returned the item for refund

I'm sure it's a great device in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing but unfortunately that isn't me. I done everything I could to get it set up properly but I just had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I uploaded two games call of the angler and train sim world 6 set it up to the best settings I could do and was only getting 15fps witch can't possibly be correct and I ended up very frustrated it's not a device for someone who knows nothing about pc and setting it up out the box take's absolutely age's it's just not for me so I'm unfortunately sending it back to get something easier to set up and play and also factory reset took over 2 hours it was an absolute nightmare

It’s a great little device. Very fun and doesn’t get hot (I was expecting it to be boiling after an hour of use) nice screen and with the USB C connection and memory card slot, it’s very versatile.A note to anyone looking - It’s a handheld PC that runs Xbox games, not a dedicated Xbox. Therefore it needs a few windows updates every few times you turn it on.As long as you use it regularly to install the windows updates, it’s a great little device. It can even run steam (bonus).If you’re a casual gamer with a good home internet connection you have to stream most games to get access to the Xbox Library, unless you’ve bought the PC versions of the titles that you want to play then get this version and not the X version.

The console is great overall! The only small downside — it feels slow when you first turn it on, but after a few minutes it runs perfectly.Screen quality is excellent no issues at all. Online gaming works really smoothly too. You can download almost any launcher and almost any game. Perfect for travelling or just relaxing somewhere. Feels really comfortable to hold, great device🎮
