A: HI,The total height of the lamp after installing the bulb is 7.9in

**Q: Is the bottom felt or metal?**
A: The base is metal.  The underside (that sits on the table), is like a hard rubber. It’s a great little light and VERY BRIGHT at its highest setting.  I wouldn’t recommend it for something that you have in a room for the only light source, but for a computer room or guest room, it’s absolutely perfect!

This little light is very nice. Small, and bright. I have been trying it in different places in our house and they all work well. The three different brightness levels are handy. If you need a spot of light, this lamp is for you.
