GREAT Kitchen Gadget!
I debated getting these as they got some pretty poor reviews from the folks who rated them 1 to 3 stars. I have a Pampered Chef all purpose spreader (which has a plastic handle) that I absolutely love and wanted several more, but don't want to spend $6 for one spreader so I figured I'd give these a try. I've been using them a little over a week now and am quite happy with them. The wooden handle is comfortable to hold - it's not as smooth as a baby's butt but certainly isn't as rough (at least in my opinion) as some of the reviews indicated - the rivets and blade are secure. I do not put this or any other wooden kitchen tools in the dishwasher - I wash by hand and let air dry in the sink drainer. So far I have not noticed any rusting or spotting. I use these constantly throughout the day - at breakfast splitting bagels (the serrated teeth are great) and spreading peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese, etc., at lunch making sandwiches - spreading mayo - cutting sandwiches - you name it. Now that I have several of these I tend to choose this spreader over a regular knife whenever I go to the cutlery drawer. If you set your expecations accordingly as I did - and understand you are not going to get a high end spreader when you pay $1.50 per piece - I think you should purchase these and give them a try.

Larger then expected
Some time ago I bought a spread knife from a nearby store for about $2, it was quite small and not wide as should be, so I went to try these since they have a low price I thought that it was worth to give it a shot. When it arrived I was really shocked and impressed of the size!! (compared with the previous spread knife), when I tried it, I was amazed how easy life started to get using these spread-knives over the conventional knifes and spoons. As seen in the product photo the left top edge is for cutting and a very nice feature. The measures of this product is as follows: From bottom of handle to blade tip 8" long, handle width is about 1" and widest blade width (grind) is about 1.6". I'll upload a photo to see the actual size. Bottom line: These spread-knives are similar to the knifes you find in any dining restaurant (they are large), They are not fancy looking, but more of a easy daily use. Excellent price and the quality is quite good. I ordered a set and just before writing this review I ordered two more sets for give away for friends and family. I give it 5 stars.

A great spreader at a steal of a price!
Would you like four spreaders for the price of one? SURE! I got these and am very happy with the quality considering the price I paid. They may be a little short for some jars, but if I hold the jar side ways it is easy to scoop out with out gooping up the handle or my hand. PB jars I recommend to hold almost upside down to get at the very bottom, less messy for me. I don't expect these to last twenty-five years like a $20 Wüsthof spreader. But they will probably last more than five years, which breaks down to $1 a year for the price I paid on special. I am happy to pay top dollar for a sharp knife and bottom dollar for a spreader. These are perfect for cream cheese, leveling brownie batter, quick frosting of cakes, making PB&Js, and spreading butter for garlic bread. Very good for frosting cupcakes, and because you have four of them, you can have others help! I use them all the time and am so glad I got them. I give a quick rinse with soapy hot water when I am done using it, so they never go in the dishwasher. I assume the finish on the wood would not withstand the punishment it would receive in there; but it is so quick and easy to clean them that it doesn't bother me. I highly recommend!

SPREAD THE NEWS....THIS IS A GREAT SPREADER!
I have been looking for a spreader like this for years. I purchased one years ago but needed another. No matter where I looked they were either too big or too small. Again, Amazon to the rescue! These are perfect. I kept two and gave the other two to my daughters. Just the right size. They are sturdy and do a great job for breakfast, lunch and great for spreading frosting on cakes and cupcakes. Their size make any job so much easier than a big clumsy knife. Great shower or house warming gift too!

Extremely durable!
I had previously purchased a similar spreader through Pampered Chef. The problem with that one is the handle completely separated from the metal part of the spreader. I purchased 2 through Pampered Chef. The exact same thing happened to both. I was really disappointed. I was looking for a sturdy spreader that would last. My daughter needed one for her college dorm room. She is addicted to peanut butter and this spreader was perfect. It is extremely sturdy and easy to wash. I liked the one I purchased for her so much that I bought another one for myself. It is a favorite of mine. Actually thinking I might need a few more.

Great Product
Great price, great product! These are a must in my kitchen. They work so well with peanut butter, jelly, butter, mayo, etc...much better than trying to balance things on a butter knife. I first spotted this type of spreader from Tupperware and loved it. Then Pampered Chef came out with one that was metal with a plastic type handle that I also loved. These are a lot cheaper and work great. I have had them for over 6 months and they are holding up great.

Nice Knife But Handles Need Sealing
I know the danger of wooden handles on knives used for eating when I ordered them. I got the knives yesterday and I finished dipping the handles in plasti-dip twice today. That sealed the slight gaps where the rivets were on the handles and the gaps where the wood meets the tang of the knife. No biggie to me, I always have some plasti-dip around ( you can get it on Amazon ). For eight bucks and a little effort I got four nice spreaders. If your not prepared to seal up those bacteria harboring gaps I'd advise getting other spreaders.
