The only negative is that it is a fairly thin film of plastic so keep the original box to keep it stored in. If you left it out it could be torn if miss treated. The box fits nicely. The maximum inside diameter is: 21.5 cm or 8.46 inches if one wanted to fit the filter OVER a telescope tube. The OD measurements (to fit this filter into a telescope - as it is designed to fit into the Celestron) is actually 22.6 cm or 8.9 inches. Of course, it is still adaptable to other sizes by making an expansion or reduction ring from a piece of PVC piping. I hope this will help someone. It helps him with his telescope stuff and has astronomy stuff ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Slight room for improvement but a great accessory for my Nexstar 6/SE *by M***S on October 29, 2023* I had tried in vain to find a solar filter for my Nexstar 6/SE for several years, but could only locate 8" filters. Celestron seemed to be perenially out of stock. I really liked the fit of it and think it could work without the included velcro, though I still use them for greatest safety. I wish the cover that was included with my Nexstar fit as snugly (it won't stay in place at all) and I am going to need to find some velcro to hold it on. I would suggest this filter could use one of two possible improvements owing to the fact it is delicate. Either ship it with a fitted case to protect it when not in use, or build it so the telescope cover could fit on it while mounted to the scope.
