Detailed review. [Note: Battery is authentic/genuine].
1. Authenticity This battery is authentic. Following parameters were used to determine the authenticity of the battery: 1.1 The package had a Canon hologram on the pack (It matched with the Canon hologram on the Camera box of EOS 200D). 1.2 The package was sealed with cut-out indications at rear side for opening the pack. A fake one would be a simple slide out case or just stapled. 1.3 An instruction manual and important safety instructions was enclosed in the package, which would be absent in a fake. 1.4 On inserting the battery in the Camera, the camera recognized the battery and did not show any error messages. Moreover, the camera also displayed the battery bars at the corner of the L.C.D. screen on the camera, indicating the remaining battery capacity. 2. Pricing 2.1 It is clear that this battery is priced at approximately at Rs. 3,900/-, whereas the Canon website prices it at Rs. 3,345/-. However, on examining the invoice, it was evident that the price of the battery was Rs. 3,100/-, less than the price quoted on the website. Only due to addition of tax and G.S.T., the price shot up to Rs. 3,900/-.
