Too tiny sized print
Print way too small for comfortable reading.....too much of a strain on the eyes....a larger print would be so welcome...

Amazing research
The first half is gripping, and the second half is informative but less gripping. However, as you finish the book and read the final chapters, it is really mind blowing to understand the amount of hard work and research that has gone into tracing the roots of the black population in the US. The author has done a commendable job in describing the quiet life of the natives, disrupted by the greed and selfish insensitivity of the white people with a few exceptions here and there. Reuires patient reading, but worth the time spent to understand how the crudely civilisation has evolved.

The read of my lifetime
I've read embarrassingly few books in my life so far and I don't know how much more I'll go on to finish in the time I have left. But I suspect this one may end up being the 'read of my lifetime'. I can't think of any other book I've read as fast as vigorous. And to think that the only reason I ever picked it up was that both Pa. Ranjith and Vetrimaaran mentioned it Nothing better sums up what this book did for me than the below quote from the book itself "There is an expression called “the peak experience”—that which emotionally, nothing in your life ever transcends."

The very best
No words to describe the book. Only berate myself, such a voracious reader, why had I waited so long to read this classic? Did the short abridged version that appeared in the Reader’s Digest decades ago, suffice, to my young, immature mind? Perhaps it’s just as well. In my autumn years perhaps the book resonates better than it would have in my earlier years. To understand the depths of human atrocity, the indefatigable human spirit... One has to read ROOTS.

Good condition & packaging on delivery
Wonderful book. Alex haley has captured generations of emtions very succinctly. Packaging was standard, so was the quality of the book, delivery speed was fine- nothing to complain about.

A true masterpiece
Truly magisterial! This is Haley’s magnum opus of the life of Kunta Kinte from his peaceful village in The Gambia, the horrors of his capture, the inhumanity of his enslavement through his lineage, and their struggle to keep his memories alive for each successive generation. This book is both heartbreaking in its portrayal of slavery, while also being inspirational in its depiction of the strength and resilience of those enslaved. I definitely loved this book and recommend it highly!

Ótimo livro.
Ótimo produto, apenas a Amazon que poderia ter embalado melhor o livro, veio apenas no saco tradicional com bolha e estragou um dos cantos, é uma viagem longa.

A must read for white Americans whose ancestry traces back to Europe
Reading this book will make you feel a plethora of strong emotions but ultimately it will instill a level of respect for the black American community. This book will also prompt reflection about injustice and systemic racism. I'm really glad to have come across this book!
