The charging problems you referred to still exists and the solution is to run down the batteries every two weeks. The batteries need to be exercised frequently, otherwise they develop a memory and eventually will not charge. I have had my Phillips unit for over five years. So remember to not place the unit on the charger every two or three weeks, and run the unit down until it buzzes lightly, then recharge it. Runs great and I replace the bristle/brush unit every year.
