It also puts a protective coating on the material. We use this in the military to clean the cockpit canopies. It's excellent to clean your glasses with. **Q: Can this be used on acrylic bathtub without damage?** A: YES you could. SHOULD YOU? Probably not or at least with a lot of caution. If for example we spray this on my my beautiful marble kitchen table and even the regular counter top formica it makes it so slippery that you can accidently send a glass or mug or bowl flying across the surface and off the edge onto the floor. I am not kidding this is serious with serious consequences. Not that we allow our kits to walk all over kitchen counters etc. but they will slide right off too if they happen to jump onto one. So bathtub? It won't damage the tub but it might damage the bumm...if you slip. I would never put it in my tub. Now you could apply some via a spray bottle onto a rag and wipe down just the walls of the tub or shower stall. But do not use on floor and even then I myself wouldn't take the chance. (We finally got rid of a whirlpool tub that came with house that's beautiful custom ceramic tiled support was so dangerous and in our guest bathroom that over a 18 year period only one time did we have a guest who actually used and enjoyed the tub. We had to keep a solid no slip step stool next to the tub to help anyone of any size get in and out. People would go "Do you have a shower or some other tub we could use during our visit?" And so they did use one of the other two bathrooms available. I would have been afraid that any of this would slick the sides worse than they were for getting in and out and just too dangerous. As to our regular tub/shower on third floor I never ever thought I could or would fall but one day I did and literally knocked myself out for about 3 minutes. Had a concussion for 5 days severe enough I had to avoid trying to do anything compicated like cooking simple dishes even. So I did not use this in that tub and I would never. In the oversized beautiful shower stall in place of the whirlpool tub even though the walls and drain floor are slightly textured it would make it way to slippery. I no longer use any liquid shower gels or shampoos and conditioners that might make the shower or tubs slippery either. This would be my number one NEVER. Having said that I love it and been using in in my home for close to 20 years. It however has taught me what not to use it on or for. It's pretty incredible and if it wasn't for the cats and my now hubby of 49 years who's into his 80's I would also use it on my marble table top as a beautiful polish. But I know better. Also becareful not to get on a tile or some flooring as it can cause it to be very slippery too. So an overcast spray can lead to that. Again experience speaking here. Also you may not want to use anywhere you may want to paint or varnish etc. as this could interfere with that and cause fish eye when it comes to any type of varnishing. **Q: Can this be used with a power washer?** A: Yes but you wouldn't want to! Brillianize is NOT a detergent. It works almost exactly like a car wax product - in that you POLISH the surface being applied theN POLISH off the residue to achieve the brilliant finish. **Q: Isn't this good for any non-porous surface? Leaves a protective coating?** A: I only use it for cleaning plexiglass windows.
