The rear (white side) of the screen lights up but not the front (black side). I suspect that the LCD panel was reversed during manufacturing. Ordered a replacement but don't hold out much hope if it's from the same batch. Will update if it works. Amazon customer service were great and gave me a refund without having to return the defective part. UPDATE: Received the replacement LCD screen today and installed. Works fine. No problems. Screen resolution is sharp, bright and clear. My iPad mini 2 now has a new battery, LCD and digitizer screen.
