I had never heard of it and felt tingling through my whole body when I spied it on a shelf. After reading for an hour, I knew I had to own it and have been reading and studying it for 35 years. That doesn't mean I fully understand all aspects of it, but I do find great solace and wisdom in its intelligently written contents and in the authoritative manner used in discussing all manner of spiritual conundrums and belief systems. It is, and has been, the foundation from which I compare the legion of other books I have read and studied, all having their own validity and viewpoints, from which I select the best and leave the rest. Truly a classic. Regarding the authorship, who cares as long as the Spirit of Truth comes shining through? The last 700 pages of "The Life and Teachings of Jesus" is without a doubt the most exhaustive and thorough biography on Urantia. The historical and overseeing perspective of the rest of the book is rightfully the context of Jesus' life and mission. Not for the faint of heart to face such a seemingly daunting book, but it is an educational experience unlike any thing I have seen before.
