Good quality for the price. Ear pieces slip off if you’re not careful with it. Got this as a gift for my daughter who was really interested in the pediatricians stethoscope but scared of the doctor, hoping if she could “play doctor” it would help with the anxiety. She loved actually being able to hear my heart instead of a pretend play toy.

I'm not a locksmith. But I help people with locks. Friends who've locked themselves out of their cars, lost keys to locks, and have forgotten their safe combos. I had a rather expensive stethoscope that I used for tumblers. It worked great for hearing pins drop in a tumbler. Even though modern tumblers are built with counter measures to silence that as much as possible. But I lost my stethoscope so I bought this to hold me over till I got a better one. It's officially useless. Can barely hear my own heart beat. You can adjust it some but it doesn't really help. So yeah lesson is don't cut corners. Buy what you need at a reasonable price. Don't buy what you need at the cheapest price.

Works great and reasonably priced

Bought two for Christmas for the kids. They work perfectly well. The sound is quite clear for the cost of the stethoscope. We are physicians, and our $180 stethoscopes work better, sure, but not necessarily 30x better. My husband was impressed at the quality of the sound for such a cheap item. The stethoscope has a "dual head", meaning that you can choose which of the heads you place on the chest to auscultate. There's a side with a wide diaphragm, and a side with a smaller diameter "bell". You can turn the head to which side you want to use, and you'll only hear sounds if you place that side against your chest. If you don't hear anything, try placing the other side on the chest, or turning the head until it clicks! I think this is the reason why some reviewers are saying that they can't hear anything.

I am not a trained medical person, past the basics and CPR courses. Just got this to listen to my grandma, who I care for, if she is displaying issues. I can listen for the “rattle” in her lungs, the speed of her heart beat, and take BP. Just a tool to try to solve issues she might be having. There are probably better ones out there, but this one meets my needs well.
