Excellent product, but poor manual and missing leads. I purchased this after owning other high end multimeters for specific reasons. 1 ) Batteries in other multimeters tend to run down at the most awkward time, and I wanted a model with a rechargeable Li-ion battery, as is the trend in recent electronic gadgets 2) The LCD SCREEN in most instruments tends to deteriorate after a few years. I wanted one with a TFT OR LED screen that has a much better life, and is easier to read in all conditions. This was the only model I could find to meet these requirements, with a comprehensive range of measurements including frequency and temperature in addition to the usual Volts, Amps, Ohms, Farads, and continuity. Although costing over 4K, I am quite happy with this. Design and display are excellent. An auto feature switches to the correct mode MOST of the time, though it requires resetting for some measurements. The user manual is rather poor, probably written by someone with no idea of multimeters. Over half a dozen repetitions of the same picture for every type of measurement and the only instruction to connect the red and black leads to the appropriate sockets. Missing in the outfit was the thermistor bead lead required to measure temperature. As I had the lead from another set (which would not fit these sockets) I was able to check this function worked, then purchased the leads for an additional 300.00 on Amazon. One would expect the required leads to come with the meter, as in other models at this price. One also needs to set some of the measurement range through the settings, but it is quite simple. In summary, I am delighted with this, but wish they had a better manual, and supplied it without the user having to buy extra parts.

Item was deffictive, did not power up, the pa kage looked like it was a refurbished product, the cling wrap seal was missing, and the box was damaged at the corner.

Product not working properly.. Very poor quality. Return request need to send via postoffice service.. They will not accept electronic items.. So it's useless.

This thing does everything that a multimeter should do. What sets the DMT-99 apart from other multimeters in its price range ($37 at the time of writing this review) is its digital display with the graph mode, which cycles after a little over 30 seconds, and makes it infinitely easier to diagnose those pesky intermittent parasitic drain that spikes for a second and then goes away for the next 2-3 minutes. Other multimeters in this price range lack this feature. I purchased this multimeter and combined it with a Lisle 64970 parasitic drain testing harness to test my vehicle for intermittent parasitic drain. The graph mode (shown as the "recording mode") made it a lot easier since I didn't have to keep my eyes glued to the display the entire time. It also has the ability to display minimum and maximum detected levels. The only downside is there isn't a way to scroll back to see older chart, but you can mark and save the displayed current/voltage. Fortunately, the level of parasitic drain I discovered is within the norm of a modern vehicle, but the graph mode made it extremely easy. NCV works great, and the beep is audible enough but not annoying. I was also impressed with the battery capacity. I fully charged the device and had this thing running in frigid temperature (30 to 40°F in the shade) for about 3-4 hours while performing the test, and the battery level meter only went down from a total of seven bars to six. In terms of size and weight, it's about average in its class. You can put it in your pocket, but you'll definitely notice it's in there. This multimeter is definitely worth the investment. It more than paid itself off after a single use. Even accounting for the Lisle 64970 harness, the combined cost of the two ($60) is vastly less than what mechanics charge for parasitic battery drain testing, which can range from anywhere from $120 to $200 depending on where you live.

I like it. Being an electronic technician with over 30 years experience, I was sceptical at first but the feature included makes it the perfect tool even for beginners. Features like autorange and auto detection of volt, ohm, capacitor, diode and contunity makes it virtually unkreakeable. I also like the fact that it is rechargeable so I don't have to worry about changing the batteries every now and then, The only draw bach is the sockets for the probes are a bit tight so I can't fit some of the prober I already own. And no! I wasn't paid to write this review lol!
