Review: Best camera for creators in 2023 - I have had the Sony ZV-E1 glued to my hand since it arrived in the mail. I have shot BTS and some scenes for a commercial shoot that we did, I have hosted a photographers meetup and used this to take photos, I have shot thumbnails for YT videos, created vlogs, and recorded an hour long podcast episode with breaks every 20-30 mins. I was worried when I bought this camera that it was going to be some gimmicky vlog camera but after doing extensive research and watching pretty much every Sony cam video made I decided it was worth the risk. As someone who is a run and gun shooter this camera is amazing for a grab and go situation. Now that companies are also starting to create rigs that fit this camera I am working on getting a small rig cage and kit so that I can also build it out. Even without the cage though this is also the perfect camera to run off of a gimbal, behind the scenes, a primary or secondary camera, or pretty much whatever your creative needs are depending on the situation. The intelligent auto feature in this camera makes it feel like you have a virtual assistant and the fact that the menu is so customizable makes it a really enjoyable efficient camera when shooting in manual as well. I am very pleased with this camera.

It’s like having an extra camera man. Only thing I was worried was overheating issue every one talked about. For long recordings over 1 hour , I attach ulanzi fan and it seem to work well. I know this camera wasn’t really meant for photos but 12mp is plenty for social media. Highly recommend it.

**Q: Is there an evf that can be added to sony cameras? i love this camera but that lack of evf stopped me from buying.**
A: for a few hundred more you can get the A74 has an EVF and flip screen, 33mp.
The ZV E1 is not really a great photo camera at 12mp. it leans towards video.

The ZVE1 will come with more autofocus and tracking capabilities, better noise performance due to the lower resolution on a same sized sensor as well as higher frame rate available, support for H.265 codec.
