Heavy gauge metal, highly polished, sturdy. It does have what appear to be nylon bushings inside over the pins which are inserted from the sides. I don't see where this would be a problem, just a plus, stopping any rust or dirt from affecting the movement. It has a very solid and snug fit. I would recommend this product for it's descriptive uses.

I looked everywhere trying to find a robust hinge that accepted carriage bolts. I needed to secure my barn doors, preventing a theif from simply unscrewing the hinge screws. I have large heavy double doors. I bought 3 for each door but after seeing these I could have probably got by with 2 on each door. I looked hard to find something less expensive but I do not regret buying these at all.

I used six of these for a set of gates I built from old garage carriage doors. Heavy and seven feet tall, they were going to be demanding for normal gate hinges. These were the perfect solution. Installed with four-inch by 1/4” stainless lag bolts (for the posts) and carriage bolts (for the gates) they work flawlessly. There is VERY little slop built in, so alignment is important, but a long straight-edge solves that when setting them in the gates first. I blocked the doors in position, the drilled and bolted the other side of each hinge into the 4x6 posts. There is a small grey plastic bushing inside the hinge barrel, but since it’s enclosed I’m not worried about environmental exposure. I added some silicone oil, just to help them out. (They can never squeak. Silicone blocks UV rays)

These are super heavy duty and have a very nice black finish. The hinge pins are tamper resistant. As the product listing states, these accept 5/16” carriage bolts. The only negative is that the packaging kind of stinks and essentially ensures there will be some minor surface scratching due to the two hinges jostling against each other in transit.

I searched for days for the best hinge for my gate. These are absolutely incredible. They are heavy gauge stainless steel and will last a long time we worth the price. in fact, considering the quality the price was great. So much better than the cheap thin ones that you usually see at box stores and even on Amazon.

Beafy hinge! Worst thing about them is they do not come in groups of 3. Hinge is as strong as the bolts, so make sure you order stainless steel carriage bolts with washers and nuts. Would not use screw type.

Wow.... what a rip off! These should be $10 for a pair. For what I paid I thought these would be high quality, but nope. Looks to be standard import quality. 5/16-18 carrage bolts DO NOT fit. The holes are way too small. The paint finish looks nothing like the pictures. Uneven and not good looking at all. I think you would be MUCH better off getting a cheap set of hinges and some files to make your own carrage bolt hinges. These are super overpriced for what you get. Very disappointed
