## Description

Dune: War for Arrakis is a themed strategy board game that focuses on the desert war event of Frank Herbert's acclaimed dunes novels. In this asymmetrical game, the Harconen family must rule Araki in the armies and keep running spices and not losing support for the great forces of the Empire. On the other hand, Paul Muaddive has turned to Messia, the leader of young Attrades, lead Freeman Rebel and take on his vision, and find the path between the fate of Araxis, relentless Jihhah, and Quwisatsz Hadelah. While Herconen depends on vehicles such as birds and carryall to avoid the dangers of the desert but Attrades uses the power of the desert to drive the massive deserts into battle. Each faction employs a different strategy and is complemented by a set of unique leaders and planning cards to achieve their own winning conditions.

Review: I was tempted to give the game 4 stars initially as the box came a bit banged up (not desertcart’s fault) and the player boards are actually a thin cardstock rather than cardboard, I know this isn’t the kickstarter edition but I would expect a little more quality from CMON… Having said this, the game is excellent and immersive, you’ll enjoy it whether you’re a fan of Dune or not.

I was tempted to give the game 4 stars initially as the box came a bit banged up (not Amazon’s fault) and the player boards are actually a thin cardstock rather than cardboard, I know this isn’t the kickstarter edition but I would expect a little more quality from CMON… Having said this, the game is excellent and immersive, you’ll enjoy it whether you’re a fan of Dune or not.
