We suggest either FOAM-TAC (One of my personal favorites for many applications beyond the RC plane market.) or HOLD THE FOAM, specifically designed for a strong, permanent bond for Styrofoam. HOLD THE FOAM doesn't contain a solvent, so it's perfectly safe for all kid's projects. Good luck with all your foam projects. **Q: Will this work for balsa wood model planes?** A: Yes, it will work on Balsa wood. The bond is tacky straight from the bottle yet removes easily from the fingers and any surfaces it touches. I’ve had it for paper projects, repairing salt dough ornaments, and holding wooden and glass miniatures. It’s thick but not too thick, the excess easily wipes away, and is flexible when needed (I’ve even used it to bind miniature books). It dries clear, hasn’t yellowed, and can be peeled away from a surface the way Elmers glue can be removed, yet with a much stronger, clear, and fast hold. If you are into crafting or art, this is the standard by which others could be measured. With that being said, I’m not sure if it would be durable for jewelry making or heavy use items.
