Vanity Fair Print Magazine

This is my very first negative review on Amazon -- or anywhere else, for that matter. Moreover, I've become a die-hard Amazon fan.However, I feel compelled to warn others about what Vanity Fair is doing with these subscriptions. I had signed up for a one-year subscription at a great rate, which is usually the case with Amazon.Now, nine months later, I just received a letter from Vanity Fair, informing me that my subscription is about to be automatically renewed for another year at $32.95 -- nearly twice the price of the original subscription. To avoid the charge, I then had to call the Company and work through their automated network until I got to the correct automated robo-voice.We look forward to the magazine, and think it's great reading. However, they should be ashamed of practices like this. They should be getting subscribers by virtue of the value of the product -- not by underhanded automatic renewals at ridiculously inflated prices.

I may be partial, but I think Vanity Fair is one of the best magazines in print. They seem to cover a bit of everything with style, wit, humor, and class.

I have subscribed off and on for decades. The magazine uses reporting from contributors who are ethical and adept, and it does not shy from controversial content. Some of it’s lighter pieces verge on Cosmopolitan level triviality, but what are you going to do?

You get a subscription to Vanity Fair, and you expect to read articles. Instead you get 0 articles to read.

Love Vanity Fair. Have subscribed for decades. Always interesting and well-written articles. The photography is excellent also. Wouldn't miss an issue.

If I had to subscribe to only one magazine, this would be it. I love the Editor section, the parties, the book reviews, the letters, articles on up-and-comers ... then there are THE stories. There are so many interesting stories I've read in VF and I have enjoyed the stories -- even if the content wasn't of interest to me upon first glance. But just after reading a paragraph or two? Every story I read, no matter the content, is fascinating!When I first started subscribing (ages ago), I discovered VF authors and began my long-time admiration for the magazine! The finance articles by Michael Lewis and others are amazing; the late Dominick Dunne made me feel as though "I" were in the middle of the most wonderful stories he told; and, of course, there was the late, great Christopher Hitchens. I enjoyed his articles and later respected his books and talks! Those were the authors I discovered through the magazine years ago and I will continue to subscribe so that I can discover new, wonderful & exciting authors and stories I have come to expect and love! In case you can't tell, I recommend this magazine!!!
