Always fresh, fragrant and flavorful
We've been buying these Frontier Co-op organic Ceylong ("true cinnamon") sticks for years. And with the exception of one or two orders over all those years, most of the sticks arrive intact and full of warm, gentle flavor. But if you've never tried Ceylon cinnamon sticks, be aware that the sticks are more papery and fragile, and some sticks may shred a bit, unlike the more common, hard, tightly curled cassia (usually labeled Vietnamese or Saigon cinnamon) sticks. We use these Ceylon sticks daily in our morning coffee, mostly for cinnamon's reputed health benefits, which are reportedly best extracted with water. And Ceylon cinnamon, with its sweeter, more delicate flavor, doesn't overpower the coffee. Also, adding a couple of sticks when making hot cocoa infuses a warm depth of flavor that pairs beautifully with chocolate. Because Vietnamese cinnamon has higher levels of coumarin, it isn't recommended for daily intake in higher doses (but like most information available on the internet, you can always find opposing views), and in any case, we love the more subtle flavor of Ceylon cinnamon (which is also the same as Mexican canela). But for most baking, ground Vietnamese/Saigon cinnamon is the way to go, or you may be disappointed with the lack spicy punch, which the Ceylon variety, with its more delicate flavor profile, would be too understated. But for adding to hot drinks, cider, cocktails, infused creams and stocks, as well as use Indonesian/Middle-Eastern/North African dishes, these mildly aromatic organic Ceylon sticks are perfect.

Not the cinnamon I wanted, but excellent nevertheless (Updated)
Update: I am finding that I also quite like this Ceylon cinnamon for some things. It wasn't what I initially expected (totally my error), but it has turned out to be an interesting mistake, so I have updated this post to a 5 star as this is a great product. Just be sure you know the difference between the Cassia and the Ceylon cinnamon. Original Post: I am disappointed. I didnโt pay enough attention when I ordered. I wanted the spicy cassia cinnamon. This is the Ceylon cinnamon. It neither tastes nor smells like โcinnamonโ to me. It is very floral, and these sticks are far more fragile and crumbly than cassia sticks. I understand that this is normal for ceylon cinnamon. My mistake. Unfortunately itโs not returnable. I really didnโt like that these sticks were just scooped directly into a smelly, silver plastic shipping bag either. I will try to find a use for these but wonโt order again.

Excellent Quality Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks
I recently purchased these Ceylon cinnamon sticks, and the quality is outstanding! The sticks are beautifully crafted โ lighter in color, smooth, and easy to break compared to the dense, darker Cassia (Saigon) cinnamon sticks. What truly sets Ceylon cinnamon apart is its health benefits. Unlike Cassia, which contains high levels of coumarin (a compound that can be harmful to the liver in large amounts), Ceylon cinnamon has minimal coumarin content. This makes it the perfect choice for those who enjoy cinnamon regularly in teas, soups, or baked goods. The aroma is sweet, warm, and subtle, adding a gentle yet rich flavor to my teas and slow-cooked recipes. Iโve also noticed how much easier these sticks are to grind into fresh powder โ theyโre more brittle and less woody than Cassia sticks. If you're searching for high-quality cinnamon sticks that are both aromatic and beneficial to your health, these Ceylon sticks are a fantastic option. Highly recommend for anyone who loves to use cinnamon daily!

Great organic and Ceylon cinnamon sticks for tea
Love this product. I wanted organic and I wanted the Ceylon because itโs supposed to be not as toxic to tire system. There were more broken pieces than Iโd like, so maybe shipping it out in something to protect the sticks better would be great. I guess Iโll just grind up the shards and make powder.

Great cinnamon option
These are a staple on our home. Smells great, tastes great in my chai. I use cinnamon sticks daily for my morning chai. These are also great when making elderberry syrup or other items you need to steep cinnamon.

Awful
I have bought this from this company for years and have always been pleased with it. You could smell the strong cinnamon as soon as you opened the bag. This didn't smell like cinnamon at all. In fact, it smelled horrible. The best I can describe it was a chemical smell. Also they were all dried out and brittle. The one pic is one from the previous bag next to the new bag. Obvious difference. So disappointed that I can't use them in my potpourri pot. Update: I am pleased to announce that the seller has rectified the situation and, therefore, I am changing my review.

Open Carefully
Open your package gently because the cinnamon sticks are loose in the bag/container and you will need a perminant storage container.
