You refer to "thumb drive" is a manual button, its usage method can view the following video. **Q: If i scan an a3 document, what is the dpi resolution? what about an a2 document? 300 dpi? 600 dpi?** A: I don't know the answer. If you email them, they are very responsive. It isn't a high resolution. I was trying to duplicate part of a near A2 document, 22 x 6. It came out readable and all, but was too small to display. So, I tried to do it in parts, and then enlarging the parts on my older 3-in-1 - but I could never get the parts to align in size. After many attempts I gave up and took the document to a wedding photographer who put it on the floor and climbed a ladder to get it all in actual size. The photo lab, which I had tried first, wanted it left and wouldn't allow me to make an appointment so I would be on hand while they did it. The photographer was the best bet.
