Neat and takes up little room on the work surface. I have a small compost bin which I pop in day-to-day scraps, coffee grounds, grapefruit skins etc and then when I have enough, I move the contents, including the compostable liner, into the electric composter. The machine is very efficient, and the results are amazing. However, there are down sides. First, it is noisy, and it smells when working and so you need plenty of ventilation when it is operating. Given that it takes over 5 hours to do the job, it would be helpful if it had a timer function (as we are used to on washing machines, dishwashers etc) so that it could run through the night on the cheaper electricity rate plus the operating noise would not be an issue. Yes, I know that I could use a separate plug-in timer and may do so in future, but I am surprised that it isn't integrated into the machine. All in all, however it does the job quicker than an outside composter would without the worry of attracting vermin and the results feed my plants.
