High quality and thick leather. Takes with to break them in but I expect they'll be worth it. This is my fourth pair of these boots I've bought in the last ten years. The first three wear very their and pliable leather. These are like 5X thicker and should last far longer . Looking forward to buying again in 5+ years or so. Would be much of the tops were higher but they are solid all the same. I think the ladies version has really high tops compared to these somewhat high tops.

Good points: Looks Great! Not so good points: Very poor fit - it's runs too narrow. The insoles have absolutely no cushioning or arch support. If you try to add an insole your foot won't fit in the shoe. After over a month of breaking it in walking in this boot is still a painful experience. Feels poorly constructed with low quality materials - the sole seems to be especially flimsy The tongue is gusseted all the way to the top but the zipper is not (these boots are not water resistant anyway) Since the tongue is fully gusseted it is hard to get it to sit evenly across across the laces Expected a better boot from the Madden label. Hopefully there will be a version 2 that fits better.

Great dress boots. They are comfortable. If you buy these and it hurts your foot, move the tongue around a bit

I love the look of all the steve madden shoes that I have gotten from amazon. They all however are not top of the line quality, leather is thinner than expected, fits a little stiff, and the sole can come unglued over time. I simply glue mine and happen to fit the shoe well so the stiffness isn't a problem. But like I said I love the look and they feel great on my feet. I gave four stars rather than five because this style is a little tough to get on and off, even with the very necessary zipper, and I can tell that over time it will wear out were I have to put strain on the leather. For me though, I still love the look and feel.

The tongue of the boot is super thick, wide and attached to the sides at the laces, which means there are three layers of thick leather with a hard thick ridge digging into the top of foot and the ankle. I know this is better for being water resistant but it’s REALLY uncomfortable. I’m going to take them to a saddle shop and have the excess cut out making it an unsecured tongue (the laces will hold it fine), but this is an unnecessary expense and inconvenience. If they used lighter weight leather for the tongue it would be fine and even better if it wasn’t so wide. There’s just a whole bunch of extra leather scrunched in there. Other than that they’re cool looking and comfortable enough if I leave them unlaced half way and fan the tongue out of the boot.

I actually really love these boots. I bought them thinking I would wear them only once in a while but I try to wear them every day if I can get away with it. When you get them they were a little uncomfortable around the ankles (may have laced them too tight) but I stuck with them for a few days and they loosened up. They are a tad narrow looking down on them like people are saying, but that really doesn’t bother me. They are a combat boot style so it’s what you are getting. I like lacing them all the way up or half way (there is a little notch that is perfect for wrapping them around the top of the boot if you look close). Bottom line, I’m into them and get compliments. Can’t wait to break them in even more. I’m very tempted to get the brown ones too. Btw, my picture shows them really dusty from wearing them around our office remodel. They are not really as ashy looking out of the box. I don’t wipe them down because I kinda like it.

I usually never leave a review for anything, but felt compelled to after receiving these boots. I have relatively narrow feet, and could barely slide into these boots. They look and feel extremely cheap, and are stiff as hell. The only reason I left 2 stars, was because they were somewhat inexpensive and very light for boots. I would save my money if I were you. Get something better.

They look sick I have to say you definitely need to break them in but nonetheless it fits nice and snug I do recommend getting some good boot socks but it looks great with my armor it really gives it a nice look especially with the brown leather.

Had these a couple weeks and so far I'm impressed with the quality seems to be made pretty good and are pretty comfortable as well

I bought these half a size bigger (normally a 10 so bought 10.5) based on peoples reviews about fit. What people say is bang on...these are a very narrow fit and when I first put them on they felt extremely tight. Toes were fine, so going a size even bigger wasn't going to fix it. Absolutely love the look of them so really didn't want to send back, so decided to just put them on in the house, walk around for the afternoon, stretch the stiff leather in all directions (was quite a good workout!) and within no time they started to give. Wore them out to go to the shops, drove in them and can safely say that it won't be long before that suffocating feeling is a distant memory. They're no pair of slippers and never will be, but the initial discomfort is worth it, because they look superb. As for the quality issues people have described I certainly don't have the same opinion. Most of those were in the USA so copies maybe?? The only bad UK review re quality was in 2018 so you can ignore that! These are proper genuine leather, very well made, and bear no resemblance to the shoe pictures sent in by other disgruntled buyers. Maybe I got lucky and got a genuine pair, but I can only call it as I find it. If you like them, but they're little tight....hang in there and break them in. You won't regret it

One shoe is not similar with another one. Leather quality is different on folding. One shoe is nice another one looks like faux leather. If not this issue they would be perfect. Unfortunately have to return it
