So bottom line, I was successful in replacing my defective Pixel 4 XL battery with this one - BUT: The process was extremely difficult, time consuming and potentially dangerous. For one thing, the original battery had already been professionally replaced with a factory authorized one about a 1.5 years prior. Upon opening the case and removing the necessary screws, I could not readily pry the battery away from its *unnecessary* (in my opinion) adhesive backing. Over the course of the next two hours, I was finally able to remove the battery, but by this time the battery was very deformed and I feared that it might burn at any moment - so much so that I did some of the work outside. That, plus the fact that there are two micro ribbon cables in contact with the back of the battery and these had gotten cought up in the black adhesive glue strips. This situation required a lot of patience as I gradually worked to free up the cables, risking tearing them in the process. Not fun at all. The rest of the installation took only a few minutes and everything worked fine. Keep in mind though, that when you replace a factory authorized battery with one of these, you lose wireless charging in the process. I'm OK with that, considering that my 4 XL is 4 years old and I will be replacing it later this year. My repair job, though successful, was not a job that the average person would want to attempt. In fact, I was surprised with my own success.

I bought the kit for Pixel 5 and successfully replaced the battery. Most steps are easy to follow except how to apply the adhesive to reinstall the display, which is entirely missing! The black adhesive is sandwiched between white paper and blue plastic film, which is ALMOST the size of the phone. This means you only use the FRINGE of it and discard the rest. I said ALMOST because if you place it in the middle of your phone, it will NOT reach either edge of your device! So I ended up cutting it, lengthwise, into 2 halves so that the right & left halves can cover the right & left edges of the phone respectively! I wish the instruction were better. It took me a while to figure out the adhesive was hidden between 2 sheets of materials and then much longer how to apply it. Other than the bad instruction, the kit comes with everything you need for the job. Since I only installed it yesterday, I can't vouch for the longevity of the battery. So far I'm happy. My Pixel 5 is only 2 years old. To have a bulging battery, I'm very disappointed in Google. This is why I didn't buy an OEM Google battery, which cost 2x more. Now, I have the old battery in my hand, I see it is made by the same company, Sunwoda, assuming the replacement is not lying! If this replacement can last 2 years, it's a good investment. The phone would be 4 years old by then, and time for a new one. Through this exercise, I also realize Google lies about Pixel 5's capacity. The OEM battery reads, "Typical Capacity: 4080mAh/ 15.78Wh" and "Rated Capacity: 4000mAh/ 15.48Wh". So when Google advertises the former, it is expecting this battery to operate OUTSIDE of the TESTED parameters! No wonder it bulged after only 2 years!

I was having issues with my Pixel 5. I really like my phone but my battery was dying after 2 to 3 hours without even being touched and the original battery decided to swell, pushing my screen off. As the last ditch effort I decided I'm going to try this battery and it completely brought my phone back to new working condition if not better. Even if I'm playing with my phone, watching videos, playing games or whatever else I want to do it seems to last almost all day. The kit comes with great instructions and everything that you're going to need to do the job and be happy with the results. I have never replaced a battery in a phone that was sealed, with these instructions I was able to take it apart replace the battery and get it back together within a half an hour. If you need a battery I highly recommend this one. This is an all-inclusive kit, it includes the battery, tools, new seals and great instructions. I highly recommend

everything great, battery worked and had 50% charge out of the box, fit as it should, boxed well. I did remove the third band of stick tape so not to stick to the flex bus under battery. Happy with this kit. Cheers to the amazon driver dropping it off in a snow storm.

My OEM battery stopped reading the battery charge and it rendered my phone useless when not plugged in. I bought this as a final attempt to avoid buying a new phone. I was surprised to find this is the same manufacturer as the battery I removed, but an updated version. It has been working great and installation was straightforward. More than enough tools in this kit. You don't need to buy anything else.
