can i use this lather with an electric razor??

Absolutely. I have issues with bumps and ingrown hairs around my chin, and using this product with an electric razor is the closest I've come to eliminating the problem.

Red vs green, is the red really better for coarse beards?

Both work well with tough beards in my experience. if you prefer menthol and want to use a matching pre shave, go with the green. if you prefer sandalwood and or don't like pre shave, the red is a bit better. Both are excellent products, especially for the price.

do you have to use a shaving brush?or can you apply it with your fingertips?

Always use my fingertips, and I see no reason to stop. The brush is wholly unnessecary with this thick, smooth cream.

Does this soap keep well in a dish, or should it be kept in the tube and squirted onto the brush with each use?

Leave in the tube, did not do well in a bowl or dish. Also takes just a small dab, lathers well with a moist brush.
