Which kind of pumpkin is used? Butternut squash, kent...?

The pumpkin used is Dickinson. This is "Libby Select" strain of Dickinson is our own, developed over decades by our own agricultural people. Thank you, Nestle Professional

Does it need a can opener?

Yes, you will need a can opener. Thank you. -Amanda, Nestlé Consumer Engagement Center

The heading says it’s pastry pie filling but the Cannes says it’s pumpkin. So tell me is it pumpkin only or pumpkin with spices added?

Our 100% Pure Pumpkin is just that, pumpkin with nothing added. Our pumpkin can be made into pie filling by following the directions on the label recipe.

What is the current (today is 11/16/19) expiration date)?

Don't know about today but have some received about a month ago with use by date end of September 2020

Nothing compares!

Sugar pumpkin is the best for pumpkin pies and pumpkin bread and Libby's is and always will be my go-to for it! I just wish it wasn't so difficult to get ahold of! Quality is always superb and fresh, makes my pumpkin pies amazing and reminds me of Thanksgivings past. There's a reason why it's so hard to keep in stock here in Australia!
