No, not at all! You can put them in dishwasher if desired. I LOVE mine.

Months, however I suggest changing them after 4-5 weeks. They get dirty like all sponges.

Very durable.

I really enjoy the Scrub Mommy. It is fun to look at. It works really well. I especially like them for doing dishes, You can get the pots clean even the nonstick pans and they do not scratch. My only complaint would be that all three in the box were the same color. It would have been nice to have different colors for different uses.
