The ironing board itself is 42" and it is metal mesh, it also comes with a cover and pad. This unit also has a sleeve board and that comes with a sleeve board cover. Thank you

The unit fits between two centered wall studs with no utility lines blocking the cabinet recess space. The recommended cabinet opening is 14 1/4" wide by 46 1/4" tall. The recommended height from the floor for the star of the opening is 27". mgt
