It is very expensive but it is very good, best as i ever had

LOL We've only made ice cream with the blender so far and sliced up carrots for carrot cake but they've preformed beautifully. Will *attempt* to update when I've used it a bit more. I also had an issue that customer service was *VERY* on top of and resolved completely in a matter of days.

The blender works great. I use it every day. The food processor does not work like I expected. I thought it was going to be easy to use but its so finicky that I rarely use it. It is too much trouble to have to fiddle with it over and over until it finally runs. If I manage to get it to work. I keep getting the warning icon on the screen which apparently means all the pieces are not perfectly attached. I thought it was just me until a friend that has worked in restaurants for years and should have been able to use it easily also ran into the same issue. He recommended I contact Vitamix.

Junk. Don't buy. Food processor only worked twice now the vitamix does not not work because it won't recognize it. I have clicked every part many times. Wasted alot of money and threw the box away cause it was huge. Biggest mistake buying this thing that will be stored in my garage.

THE BLENDER: I have used a competing top quality blender for well over 10 years now, but it was starting to get a little tired. So, I thought I'd try a Vitamix this time, and was not disappointed! I used it to make a chocolate malt last night and then a smoothie this morning (with ice) and it was quick and powerful. In fact, in using the smoothie setting on it, I'll probably stop it before it finishes - it just didn't need to go that long, even with a lot of ice in it. I love the fun and intuitive digital display! It gives you the options of automatic programs through the scrolling icons, or the ability to set and adjust your own speed while blending, or pulse at whatever speed you'd like. There's a handy self cleaning program that really works, and many of the pieces are dishwasher safe as well. It even tells you that it won't turn on without the blender or food processor attached. The power button is well placed on the right underside of the machine. And I was really happy that the tamper holder attaches to either side and is easy to take on and off. This machine is also a lot quieter and more powerful than my previous one, which is an added bonus. FOOD PROCESSOR. I already have a VERY old Cuisinart food processor and this one is even faster and more powerful. I love that the bowl quickly releases from its base with a press of the silver release lever and is smooth and round on the inside, making it easy to remove the contents. Both the round and large pushers work equally well. It slices through whole potatoes in an actual flash! Plus, the "thick" slicing disk actually slices them thick enough for au gratin casseroles - very nice! Carrots cut like butter too, whether chopping, slicing, shredding, or doing Julienne strips, and again, were cut in a literal flash. This machine is powerful! Shredding cheese was the very best of all - wonderfully done. I really love the assortment of 7 different cutting blades (including the chopper), and also the storage containers for them all. This came with the 2 disc storage container and an expansion case that attached to it for the extra two disks (many are double sided) which I thought was much better than the stacked storage in the manual. Cleaning of all the parts was quick and easy (except with the cheese) by just rinsing under hot water. You can also use the machine's cleaning cycle on the food processor, or a dishwasher for many of the parts. The plastic these are all made of is something special - definitely not an ordinary plastic. You can tell the difference just by tapping on it. Getting used to all the snap on lids is coming along, plus they are loosening up with a little use, making it even easier. This is not a cheap system by any means, in any way. We make a lot of protein smoothies so I will just keep this on our kitchen counter, with the food processor attachment and blades stored in a cabinet below it so they'll be quick and easy to access. Using them is honestly so fast, even with washing them you'll still save time over hand chopping or slicing. I'm absolutely delighted with this system!
