More economical than my usual brand and, i believe, even tastier! Taste great chilled with yellow mustard as condiment!

I have been eating sardines for health reasons, in the past I have purchased sardines in water, thinking they would be nicer to eat and for the most part they were. I took a chance and ordered these packed in olive oil. Once they arrived (nicely packaged BTW, no damaged cans), I opened one, not sure what to expect, I grabbed a fork and ate one of the sardines straight from the can. WOW, was I blown away! The flavor is miles better than the ones in water (which aren't bad to me to begin with). What I didn't want was ones in cotton seed oil (yuck!) or some other questionable oil, these are packed in olive oil and so far they have been heavenly. I eat a couple of cans a week, I've been told that I should consume the oil as well as the sardines, I can do that if I'm mixing it with something, or making a sauce from the oil to go on the sardines. When eating them straight from the can, I just try to get as much of the oil with each bite, and the rest of the oil typically goes to my dogs. One little hint, open it over your sink and have a paper towel handy to set the can on once you open it, the oil mostly stays in the can, but no matter how carefully I open the can, some of the oil always migrates around and drips or gets on the bottom of the can, not a deal breaker, just be aware. I will say again, the flavor is fantastic, not fishy at all, it's very pleasant. Sometimes I sprinkle a little bit of good sea salt on the fish, but mostly I just eat them straight out of the can. I also feed these to my dogs, it's just as healthy for them, I add it to their regular food, a couple of sardines for each dog, they LOVE it, I also dribble in some of the oil, whatever fish doesn't make it into their bowls, I eat (don't tell them!). Bottom line, if you are heating sardines for health and want something tasty, not fishy, easy to eat and priced right, try these.

Never been a sardine fan, but they’re trending, & I desperately need to update my protein & omega 3s, so here we are. I’ve tried the plain ones, lemon pepper, hot sauce, etc. Usually they sit around in the pantry for weeks or months until I force myself to eat them, but enter THESE smoked sardines . . . I had four cans in the pantry, and decided to fry them in a skillet with eggs and Korean chili flakes . . . AMAZING. They were so good I ate them four days in a row, then ordered this 18 pack last night, and made another batch now. The smoked flavor itself is fine — straight out of the can, they’re better than the others — but heated up, they’re delicious. I also made hot smoked sardine dip with cream cheese, chives, scallions and a squeeze of lemon — chefs kiss — and I look forward to triangle all types of other hot sardine recipes. They’re always in low stock at the store because of TikTok, so I will gladly subscribe & save here. A can definitely keeps me full, but I can’t wait to see the benefits on my skin, hair & body composition over time. So glad to discover these!

I have ordered from this brand, I think, seven times now. I have always received high quality cans, only two single cans of which were ever dented, and the expiration dates have been consistently great I have tried the lemon variety, and the mustard variety too, so I'll add some comments on them --- For the Lemon kind - It really wasn't that lemony at all, to a disappointing degree. They were good, yeah, but were kind of the same as the 'in oil' kind with just a HINT of lemon. I wasn't impressed, personally. But the quality of the sardines themselves was still there. 3/5 stars For the mustard kind - These were really good. The mustard wasn't too strong or overpowering. But the sardines were ever-so-slightly dry (which is usually the case with any kind not packaged in oil, I guess?) They were still really good anyway though. 4/5 stars I've tried probably four different brands, and I think this brand is my favorite so far. Also, I like that they source the sardines from a more reputable area I will say, this last batch I ordered seems to be a little saltier than the previous batches I got. That's not REALLY a complaint, though. But it is something I noticed. Again, I don't consider that a bad thing Aside from being a very easy, very convenient meal, (I pair a can with some crackers or bread to soak up the oil) and I didn't actually know/realize this before, but sardines are a really good source of collagen. So, along with the protein and omega-3s and all that, the collagen is something I consider a nice bonus I really don't think you'll be disappointed with this brand. And the price you pay for the amount you get seems like a really good deal to me Edit - I have now also tried the Lightly Smoked kind. Like some other reviewers mentioned, I really couldn't taste any smokey-ness. They just tasted like sardines in neutral oil. So, 5/5 for the sardines, but, I guess, 0/5 for the smokey aspect since it just wasn't there (at least not in the batch I got(?)) The quality is always great with this brand, though, so that's something

I don't like the sardines in water and olive oil is too expensive so I get these. Good flavor.
