Despite that, these are quite thick/heavy duty plastic, much like a heavy duty (not the cheapo kind) rain poncho and the plastic is not at all see through. The plastic is slightly textured, so I can see how they would help resist slippage (I haven't tried them out yet). I was worried that they might not fit over my super clunky women's size 9 winter boots, but as you can see they fit fine (up and around, halfway up on the boot and not just covering the sole) and could fit even larger sizes. All in all, I'm pleased so far and am interested to see how non-slip they are.
