Worked perfectly multiple times
Taught my 8 & 6 yr old, had them both work the drill while I pushed down and we busted a coal on the first try. They had a blast and it was a great way to learn about friction fire. Bearing system was perfect and smooth, fire board with notcheds worked perfectly, as did the actual bow/string. I was very pleased and highly recommend it for teaching friction fire.

Fire starter
I was quite happy that it does give you friction to start your fire. I was not happy that upon putting it away the small bearing in the top press came out to never be seen again. Now you have friction on both ends but it does still work so I am giving it four stars.

Works very well!!!
It was super fun !!! It took a few practices but then once you get the right pressure and speed, it did not take much time. The video was very useful. I’ve always wanted to make friction fire and this kit is very good and encouraging for beginners :)

Wears out QUICK
First impression was that it was good quality but the rope that was used is already worn to the middle little ropes so it seems like it'll break soon and it’s been one day. It definitely could work to make fire as I got a few embers but it was really windy and they kept blowing away.

Fire making fun for the whole family!
Immediately apon opening the box I was instantly impressed with the construction. After further examination of the bow drill I felt like it would last for a long time! The big selling point was that it was a two player one that allows your kids to join in on the fun. Ok, so I gave it a spin with my kids and it works as advertised and includes everything needed to produce primitive fire, with little effort! The kit is responsibly priced, especially since it's incredibly hard to find the right wood and dryness to try and make one on your own. I give it two thumbs up!

Spindle wood is too hard
Missing a string and spindle wood is too hard. Doesn't work

Fake 550 cord but a worthwhile product
After two uses, significant wear and tear. Be ready to replace the fake 550 cord and the spindle is reducing quickly. But it does work. Minus the fake 550 cord it is premium materials.
