Soft, Defined Curls Without the Crunch or Heavy Product Feel
I picked up the Dyson Chitosan Pre-style Cream because I wanted something that would help my curls hold their shape and fight frizz without turning my hair into a stiff, overly styled situation. My curls and I have a complicated relationship with humidity, so anything that promises flexible hold immediately gets my attention. One thing I really appreciate about this product is that you don't actually need a Dyson air tool to use it. I don't own one, and I've been using this with my diffuser with really good results. I work a small amount through my towel-dried hair, then diffuse as usual, and it gives my curls a noticeably softer, more polished look without making them feel weighed down. The texture was another pleasant surprise. It starts out as a richer cream, but once I work it between my hands it becomes much lighter and spreads easily through my hair. I was expecting something that might leave my curls feeling coated or stiff, especially since it's designed for hold, but that's not what I experienced. My hair still feels like my hair. I can touch it, fluff it, and move it around without that unmistakable "I have approximately three pounds of styling product in here" feeling. What I like most is the finish. My curls look defined and controlled, but still soft and natural. There's no crunchy cast and no overly glossy, shellacked appearance. It gives me the kind of definition where it looks like my curls are simply having a very good hair day rather than announcing that I spent time negotiating with them in the bathroom. It also seems to help with frizz without sacrificing movement. My curls still have bounce and personality, which is important to me because I don't want perfect-looking curls if they feel stiff and lifeless. The castor and argan oils also seem to give my hair a nice conditioned feel without making it greasy. The fragrance is definitely noticeable, but I actually enjoy it. It's a clean, slightly green and floral scent with warmer woody notes underneath. It feels more sophisticated than the typical sweet fragrance you find in a lot of curl products, and it doesn't linger so aggressively that I feel like I'm wearing perfume in my hair. The precision pump is a nice little detail too. It makes it easier to control how much I'm using instead of accidentally squeezing out enough product to style an entire second head of hair. I find that starting with a small amount works best for me and adding more only where I need it. After using it, I'm really impressed. It helps my curls look defined and polished while still feeling soft, touchable, and natural. Most importantly, it doesn't give me that crunchy, heavy feeling that makes me want to immediately wash my hair again. For anyone with thicker, curly or coily hair who wants more control without sacrificing softness and movement, this has absolutely earned its place in my styling routine.

Humidity fighter? Yes. Volume booster? No.
First, can we talk about the bottle? I LOVE the overall appearance and the dispense mechanism on the Dyson Chitosan Pre-Style Cream. It dispenses from the bottom by simply pressing the bottle down into your hand, which is incredibly easy, clean, and user-friendly. No squeezing, shaking, or performing bathroom-counter gymnastics to get the product out. 😂 As for the actual product, it does a really nice job of making my hair feel soft, smooth, and noticeably less frizzy. It has also held up impressively well against humidity... which is saying something when you’re dealing with those Texas or Florida days where the air basically doubles as a steam room. You know... those "air you wear" type of days... My only hesitation is volume. When using this before styling, I don’t seem to get quite the same lift and fullness I normally achieve. It’s not a dealbreaker, but if I’m planning a big, bouncy blowout or a more voluminous style, this probably wouldn’t be my first choice. For straight, sleek hair days, though? Fantastic. It keeps everything smooth, helps tame frizz, and prevents humidity from immediately undoing all that hard work. It’s definitely not the most budget-friendly hair product, but a little goes a long way and the bottle lasts quite a while, which helps soften the sting of the price tag. Overall, I’d give it 4 stars. It's excellent for smoothness, frizz control, and fighting humidity, with just a small deduction for flattening some of my usual volume. Because apparently my hair can have humidity control or Texas-sized volume, but it would prefer I not ask for both. 😂

Innovative technology for a haircare product- what a first experience
Pros: This is my first time trying a Dyson hair product and I was genuinely impressed with how sophisticated and luxurious the whole experience felt right from the moment I opened the box. There is a little prompt telling you to tap your phone to the top of the product, and doing that took me to a Dyson website with instructions on how to use this specific cream, which felt very high tech for something as simple as a styling product. You shake the bottle down and the cream dispenses through a precision pump that gives you an exact amount every time, which I really appreciated for controlling how much product I was using. I follow the curly girl method, so I am always on the hunt for products that help my curls hold up, and this Dyson prestyling cream fits into that routine nicely. What makes the Dyson formula interesting is that it is not just another anti frizz leave in, it is actually a prestyling heat retention cream built around a chitosan based Triodetic technology that is meant to form flexible bonds around individual strands and help a style hold longer. Dyson claims up to 50% less frizz and better humidity resistance, and while I would not say I got a full 50% reduction, my curls did look noticeably less frizzy after using this before styling. It reminded me a lot of the Shu Uemura Netsu Design, which has that same blow dry primer plus heat protection plus shape memory concept. My curls held their shape well, especially after scrunching, and I love that this pairs with a Dyson post styling serum for even more retention, which I did not get to try this round. I also apply my styling products while my hair is still damp, and this Dyson cream worked really well in that window. Cons: I am still on the fence about the scent. It reads as a mix of florals and musk, almost darkly feminine, and I cannot quite decide if I like the combination or if I would prefer it leaned more one way. My main hesitation with this Dyson product is the price point relative to the bottle size. It is a small amount of product for what you are paying, and while I think it will last a while with how little you need per use, it is definitely priced higher than most of the other products in my curly girl rotation.

Dyson Has Officially Made Me a Believer- WISH I CAN GIVE IT 10 STARS!!!
I have to start by saying this: this is DYSON. I have wanted to own a Dyson hair dryer or one of their major hair tools for the longest time, and one day I absolutely hope I can afford one. So getting the opportunity to try Dyson hair products honestly had me ridiculously excited. I already had high expectations because, let’s be honest, Dyson is not exactly a brand you associate with ordinary technology. They are a technology company that happens to make some incredible household and hair products, so I went into these expecting the same kind of thought and innovation that I associate with the brand. And these did not disappoint. I tried both the Dyson Omega Hydrating Hair Oil and the Dyson Define & Refresh Styling Duo, and I am genuinely impressed with how much thought went into these formulas. The Omega Hydrating Hair Oil is probably the one that surprised me the most. It has Dyson's Oli7 blend of seven omega-rich oils, including sunflower seed oil, and it is designed to nourish, smooth frizz, add shine, and protect against heat, humidity and breakage. It is also silicone-free, which I really like because it doesn't leave my hair feeling coated or weighed down. My hair feels noticeably smoother after using it, and the finish is beautiful without making my hair look greasy. The citrus fragrance with the bergamot and mandarin notes is also really nice. It has that clean, expensive-feeling scent that makes using it feel more like a luxury hair treatment than just putting oil in your hair. The Define & Refresh Styling Duo is another winner. I love that it gives you two different products that actually serve different purposes. The Omega leave-in conditioning spray helps with conditioning, heat protection and shine, while the Chitosan styling spray helps hold and refresh a style, including second-day hair. That is exactly the kind of versatility I want from styling products. And then there is the technology aspect. One of the coolest little details is that you can literally put your phone on top of the bottle and it brings up the Dyson experience on your screen and directs you to their website. It is such a small thing, but it made me laugh because it is SO Dyson. Even the packaging feels like they couldn't just make a normal hair product. They had to put technology into it. That's what makes me so interested in Dyson as a brand. When a company is already known for engineering and technology and then applies that same mentality to hair care, you can't help but wonder what they have figured out that other brands haven't. I also love that these are not just products that sound fancy because of the Dyson name. The Omega oil is lightweight, absorbs nicely, and leaves my hair feeling soft and looking shiny. The styling products give me options for protecting, smoothing, styling and refreshing my hair instead of needing a million different products. The one thing I will say is that these are definitely luxury-priced hair products, especially the oil. The 30 mL bottle isn't huge, so if you're someone who goes through hair oil quickly, the price is something to consider. That said, you don't need a ton of the oil, so I think the fact that a little goes a long way helps. Overall, I am in love with these products. And honestly, they have made me want the Dyson hair tools even more. I can only imagine what it is like when Dyson puts this same level of engineering and technology into the actual styling devices. For now, I will happily enjoy my Dyson hair products and continue dreaming about the day I can finally add one of their hair dryers or styling tools to my collection. If you're someone who loves premium hair care and wants products that feel genuinely innovative rather than just expensive for the name, I absolutely recommend giving these a try. Dyson has definitely impressed me here. Pros Luxurious, high-quality formulas Omega oil leaves hair smooth and shiny without feeling overly greasy Seven omega-rich oils in the Omega formula Silicone-free Heat and humidity protection Great for smoothing and refreshing hair Products can work together as a complete styling routine Beautiful, sophisticated fragrances Dyson's technology and attention to detail show even in the packaging A little oil goes a long way Cons Definitely a luxury price point The 30 mL oil bottle is on the smaller side for the price

Bouncy, Defined Curls That Still Feel Soft
I ordered this specifically for my vacation because I knew I would be dealing with much more humidity than I’m used to at home. From past experience, my hair can turn into one giant ball of frizz in humid weather, and that was definitely not the look I wanted in all of my vacation pictures. I’ve tried other styling products that either did almost nothing or controlled the frizz by making my hair feel stiff and crunchy. I chose the rich-conditioning version because my curls also tend to be dry, and this ended up being exactly what my hair needed. My curls looked bouncy, smooth, and much more defined, and the frizz was basically gone even in the humidity. I was especially impressed that my hair still moved naturally and didn’t have that hard, product-heavy feeling. I’ve found that it works best when I really rub the cream between my palms for several seconds before applying it. It changes into more of a sheer serum texture and spreads through my strands much more evenly that way. I only need a small amount, so I’m careful not to overdo it. In the end, this worked better for my vacation hair than anything else I’ve tried. It gave me the humidity protection and definition I wanted while keeping my dry curls soft, touchable, and photo-ready.

Fantastic, nourishing, hydrating hair conditioner
This cream has a rich, lovely conditioning texture that works especially well for curly to coily hair that benefits from a little extra moisture and control before styling. It distributes easily through damp hair without feeling excessively greasy, and feels like a little goes a long way. My hair feels softer and more manageable after application, with better definition and less frizz once styled, while still retaining natural movement rather than feeling stiff or overly coated. A nice quick midpoint solution in-between more dedicated, artisanal/homemade haircare sessions. Particularly good for the summer when frizz caused by humidity is an ever-present enemy.

Great for frizz control before blow-drying
My hair is thick but fine, so some products easily weigh it down. This cream doesn’t do that, but it is rich, so I’m mindful of how much I apply and avoid putting it near my roots. I apply it to towel-dried, still-damp hair before I blow-dry. It definitely helps with frizz and makes my hair feel softer and smoother. I also like that my hair doesn’t feel like it has a bunch of product in it afterward, which is a major win for me. It also makes my hair smell really good. The cream has a fresh scent that lingers nicely without being too overpowering.
