Shaft is standard height. Fit in my fender mustang just fine. **Q: How are these different than the other CTS pots?** A: These are very different and have higher quality wipers and carbon PAF than CTS . One thing you’ll need to do with these is to install a ground bond to all super pots and non-Superpots. As you can see, the red part of the pots body is not conductive. These are excellent pots... **Q: Are these low friction or high friction? I'm looking for drag or a way to keep the volume from traveling with small taps.** A: High friction. I replaced some low friction pots with these and they work great. Volume and tone stay where I put them. **Q: Can they handle Cathedral by Van Halen?** A: This is an excellent 500k pot, I am a Southern CA guitar tech . My advice is to insure you run a ground lead to the back of the pot chassis. Do not omit this... excellent pot! For EVH, Eddie would use a no load 500k tone pot. I regret you’ll need to search : Bourns No load 500k to find the pot or possibly turn to Fender for that pot.
