CISSP Practice Exams, Fifth Edition

Compared to most other practice exam question guides, this has by far the most detailed explanations of answers. The CISSP Exam has a lot of trick questions. Even when you see the correct answer, you will be scratching your head, "Why is it this? not this?" This guide has detailed explanations of the correct answer, why the other ones are incorrect.

It goes through all 8 phases and covers extensively everything and more. You won’t miss anything. Sometimes goes too much into details which may be good and bad for some people. I skip those area and only review them quickly. I highly recommend this book.

Very useful for studying. This book discusses not only the correct response, but why the other answers are wrong. Frequently, there is more than 1 correct answer. It is important to understand why the correct answer was "more right" than the other answers.

I purchased this book mostly to gain access to the online test bank, which is the same as the book. Gaining access to the website to use the online test bank was easy - no problems there, just follow the directions in the book. I like the online test bank because you can customize it by domain and the number of questions you want to practice on. For example, I set up a study session of 100 questions in Domain 1 and in Practice Mode. Practice Mode means that I can instantly see which answers I got right or wrong and get an explanation of what the right answer is and why it is the right answer on the spot. The other option is Expert Mode, which is like taking the actual exam in the sense that you won’t know what you got right or wrong until you are done with your practice test. I like Practice Mode because this method of study works quite well for me and helps me to reinforce the right answer on the spot. With that being said, I did come across a question and answer that I believe to be incorrect in the test bank. The question has to do with someone from a country in Europe (France, I believe) visiting a hospital in the USA and requesting their information be removed after their visit (Right to be Forgotten, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)). Of the choices given, I chose HIPPA, but didn't like that answer either. The answer in the online test bank stated that the answer was the GDPR, which provided the patient the “Right to be Forgotten.” However, that answer didn't settle well with me either because in the scenario given, the person from France was in the USA at the time of the visit to the hospital. After doing some quick research, the GDPR does not apply to someone visiting the USA, regardless of what the laws are in Europe. Because of this, it called into question the validity of all the questions and answers in the study guide and I don't know how much I can trust this test bank now. However, I realize that finding reliable study material for the CISSP is a daunting task to begin with, so I will continue to use this *and* two other sources. My hope is that between the three, I will be armed with enough knowledge to pass the test when I take it in May or June of 2019. This review was written on 2/22/2019 and I’m currently rating this product 3/5 stars. After I take the test, I will update this review at that time.

I like the extensive explanation of why the answer is correct and why it is not.

The question format is similar to the exam. The questions for the online portion are the same as the all in one guide which is a huge drawback.

It helped me to pass the CISSP exam. Questions are still relevant in 2023 and concepts are still the same (more or less). Answers are very detailed. You can use this book if you need more practice questions Shon Harris, RIP.

Excellent product

I compared this 5th edition(£28) to 3rd edition(£7) and pretty much the same questions. Seems opportunistic!
