Unleash the fun with DreamWorks Animation's hilarious comedy for all ages, Mr. Peabody & Sherman! Mr. Peabody (Ty Burrell) is an inventor, scientist and genius who just happens to be a dog. With his son Sherman, he will embark on the most extraordinary adventure imaginable as they race against time to repair history and save the future. Review: A Family Favorite with a Nostalgic Twist! - I knew this movie was going to be great before I even rented it—Mr. Peabody & Sherman has been one of my children’s all-time favorites since it first came out. Back when it hit theaters, I saw it three times in just two weeks—that’s how much we loved it! What makes it even more special for me is the nostalgia. I used to watch “Peabody’s Improbable History” during the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show as a kid, so seeing this modern take brought back a lot of fun memories. It’s a lovely, updated twist on a classic cartoon that keeps the clever humor and time-traveling adventures alive for a new generation. It’s fun, heartwarming, and smart—entertaining for both kids and adults. Renting it again reminded me why we loved it so much. Might have to just buy it next time! Review: Excellent and good for your kids vocabulary - I was skeptical when I bought this but then it turned out to be one of my favorite animated movies by a long shot. Reminding us that just because it's a cartoon doesn't mean that it has to be unintelligent. A must see for you and your kids. I loved it. Highly recommend wish they would make a sequel.

A great trip Wabac for R&B fans, and awesome fun for newcomers too.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! I had a BluRay of this before. Mostly bought this because my original lacked bonus features. The movie itself Is a wonderful tribute to the classic Sherman and Peabody shorts. They did change a few things since they are updating Sherman and Peabody for a new generation as well as trying to make a feature-length film. It focuses alot more on the father/son relationship between everyone's favorite dog and his boy than the shorts ever did, which is cool. The Waybac also gets an incredible upgrade, going from a simple door portal to a spherical red time-ship. There are also many more characters introduced, including Penny Peterson and family and The evil CPA social worker Ms. Grunion, along side historical figures such as Robespierre, Marie Antoinette, Leonardo De Vinci, King Tut, and Agememnon. Plus, the music is done by Danny Elfman, aside from John Lennon's Beautiful Boy and Grizfolk's Way back When. Both of which are WONDERFUL songs. As for bonus features, there are quite a few great ones, including the premiere Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends episode where Mr. Peabody and Sherman got their start. Then there is a featurette that traces the history of Mr. Peabody and Sherman from the 50s-60s shorts to The 2014 movie. There's also a tour of the Waybac hosted by Mr. Peabody (Ty Barrell), A featurette discussing the possibility and science of Time Travel, a funny look on Mr. Peabody and Sherman's mark on history, The hand and feet ceremony at the Mr. Peabody and Sherman premiere at the Chinese theater in Hollywood featuring appearences by other famous canines in TV and cinema, a memory game and jigsaw puzzle game, the theatrical trailer, and more. It also comes with a handy digital copy for Ultraviolet or Itunes. Whether you grew up with Rocky and Bullwinkle or are just curious about this movie, you will love this movie.

A Timeless Adventure – Still as Fun as Ever!
Mr. Peabody & Sherman has been a favorite of mine since childhood, and I still enjoy it just as much today. The clever mix of history, humor, and heartwarming moments makes this movie an absolute treat. Mr. Peabody’s intelligence paired with Sherman’s curiosity takes you on a fun and educational adventure through time. It’s one of those movies that never gets old, and I love being able to watch it anytime now. Perfect for both kids and adults, it’s a great film for family movie nights! Highly recommend!

The story of a dog and his boy - a different kind of modern family
MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN is a delightful family film with a great message that will appeal to children and their parents. Based on a segment from 1960's cartoon "Rocky and Friends," it tells the story of an extraordinarily smart dog named Mr. Peabody who adopted a boy named Sherman. Aside from being awesome, Mr. Peabody has also invented a time machine which he calls the WABAC (pronounced way-back). Of course, once Sherman finally goes to school (and full of knowledge from all of the first-hand history lessons courtesy of the WABAC) he encounters a bit of trouble, particularly with a mean girl named Penny. Hoping to smooth things over with her parents, he invites Penny and her family over for dinner and that's when the movie really takes off, as Sherman and Penny go on an adventure that has the potential to alter the space-time continuum. The first thing I'll say about this film is that it is very funny. Kids won't get all of the jokes and references, but there is enough humor for the younger people in the audience as well some puns and history-related references that the older people will get. The animation and character design was also very good, and I thought the filmmakers did a fine job in realizing the different time periods that are visited during the film. Complementing it very nicely was a good score by Danny Elfman, although I didn't realize it was him until the closing credits. But most of all, the film has a couple of important messages about family and growing up. As Mr. Peabody is a dog who has adopted a human, it wouldn't take much reaching to draw parallels with recent efforts to redefine what a family can be, be it one with a single parent or one with same-sex parents. Social definitions change, and I thought that the film addressed this in a rather sweet, yet oblique enough, way. There is also the central relationship of Mr. Peabody with Sherman. Despite being a dog, he's not unlike most parents that have reservations about letting their child (or children) go and experience the world for themselves. The way in which Mr. Peabody comes to realize this is a bit convoluted and long-winded, but the end result is rather touching. My only real complaint with the film is one that I have with a lot of films, and that is the third act gets a little too crazy, even for a story involving time travel, yet gets resolved rather neatly. Of course, if characters in movies were half as smart as the audience, then maybe there wouldn't be as much of a story. Still, I enjoyed this very much for its humor and message. It's a great family film that kids and adults can enjoy together.

Good Family Movie
Browsing Netflix one day I came across this show called the "Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show" and as I look at the little box showing a snippet of the characters, I noticed the dog which triggered a long-dormant memory from my childhood. I thought he looked more or less like the dog in the Rocky and Buwinkill show I used to watch as a child in the late 80s and early 90s. When I looked it up I was surprised to see that my suspicions were correct and that Dreamworks Animation Studios had acquired the rights and made a movie along with eh Netflix re-boot. I watched the movie and decided that I needed to buy it for the extra content and because I very much enjoyed it. Mr. Peabody and his boy, Sherman go on a whirlwind of an adventure through time to see some of History's most iconic events. In this movie, they visit Revolutionary France, ancient Egypt, Rennaissance Italy (Florance), and the Trojan War. Not all of the movie is fictional though, that's what I liked about Mr. Peabody and Sherman through all three (3) of its iterations, (Movie, Netflix shows, 60s era show) that it is in reality and has a bit of truth to it so long as you can spot it. The movie is good and leaves the door open for more Mr. Peabody and Sherman movies to come. It's also a nostalgia thing for me personally. I credit Dreamworks for going for this and look forward to what they decide to do with the IP in the future. *Insert Pun Here*

Fun movie with nice 3D
Having not seen the TV show this is based upon, I had no preconceived ideas. This is a bouncy, fun, rambunctious film with hilarious sciency-slapstick gags and some pretty nice 3D moments throughout. The story is engaging and fast paced so the time goes by quickly. Glad I bought it, will be watching it again in future for sure.
