Speed Racer: The Complete Series

Pacco arrivato in anticipo. Per quanto riguarda il titolo, beh, lo vedevo da bambino (mai vista tutta la serie però) e a 25€ (comprese le spese di spedizione), non potevo certo far finta di niente! 😄

Fait découvrir la série à mon petit fils. Il a adoré. Merci beaucoup.

“What a great series where the drawing is done so beautifully everything looks great in spite of the limited animation and the plots are bizarre at times but always intriguing it’s the first time I got to see it in color whoa!”, I said in the typical style of speech for nearly any “Speed Racer” character besides Chim Chim. (I saw some of these back in the 1960’s when they were first aired, on a black & white tv. I think the plots might have been too complex for a child less than 10 years old.) This series is a fun ride. I had problems viewing, several discs stopped in the middle of an episode and refused to go on, but it appears that was the problem of the media player. I swapped it out for another one and have had no further viewing probems.

I was a big fan of this show as a kid. I decided to buy this series to relive those memories and also to watch with my nephews. The dvds came in great shape and cool cover art.

I love how wonderfully strange and unhinged this series is, dozens of drivers die every race on wildy unsafe and impractical tracks and nobody ever says a word about it, lots of gadgets, campy dialog and bad guys with goofy plans, daring rescues, and fisticuffs set in the 1960s spy era.
