Can’t tell ya if they’re the same size etc, but if they went out of their way to mention the dates, maybe there’s a difference. **Q: How does the kickstand open?** A: A small tab on the stand - pull it to open to any position - like most pull tabs - it’s small - doesn’t interfere with any part but if you pull and let go it will open to the next position - if you pull and hold then put it in the position you want and let go it will lock in the closest position to what you selected! It def. added a sig. amount of weight. I'm TOTALLY fine with it cause it feels from rugged. Will update if I feel it's not worth it. Pros: - Feels like strong materials - Stand is AMAZING! Hardware is SO smooth. Little awkward to put out if you wanna change it as the laptop is open but I don't mind at all. I wish I've had this sooner my neck isn't as strained as before cause it increases the angle of the screen . - VERY easy to install. Pictures and CLEAR wording really helped me figure which is up. So thank you for jumping to the point. - Packaging is exactly what it needed. Not too wasteful but just enough to come in mint condition. - Laptop is able to close properly. No damage (yes I've seen in the reviews this is a thing for some cases) - Ports - I've only used charging so far. The case doesn't get in the way. Cons: - Quite heavy. I travel long distance with backpacks so this is not something I love BUT if it's durable, then I don't mind. Not so much a con but a feedback, would be awesome if there were designs in the future. Hope they continue making new models cause I have a good feeling I want to use this brand for the rest of my life (don't like testing out online orders.
