Anyone have an opinion if the rear vented model would be quieter?** A: Hi Mike. I have my unit not much more than about 5 feet from me. My Denon AVR is set in a closed back unit. My flat is very warm even without any heating on. My flat temp is usually between 22 and 26 generally. I even leave the back door open all the time so that gives you an idea hot warm my flat gets with no heating on in entire flat other than bathroom radiator only so I can have a warm towel after a shower. I have the unit set as follows with the probe temp at 29. On "Auto" with fan at lowest setting. Fan start up is 30 and alarm is set at 36. With these settings I must admit I hardly ever hear the unit working. Occasionally I do but not loud that is is disturbing. Maybe setting yours the same will help. I hope my answer has been helpful. I assume that is the ambient room air, not sure how that translates to equipment measurements while running, but i wouldn’t be surprised if the unit made it over 100 or 110 without a fan. Set your cooling fan to 85. **Q: If i install this product with my av equipment in a media rack inside a closed closet, do i need to exhaust the closet?** A: I would say yes. You need a source of cool air from somewhere. If you use this on your AV equipment in an enclosed space, the closet will heat up and your equipment will probably not be cooled adequately. **Q: How do theze work in av racks? how much space is needed above the cooling fan?** A: The AIRCOM coolers are great for AV racks. The fan inlets on the T10 model are on the bottom and the outlets are on the front. So, no space is needed above the AIRCOM T10 for it to function as designed. En effet, cet appareil est vraiment génial et répond à toutes mes attentes : Enfin un système de refroidissement thermostaté et intelligent . Un internaute ici même, regrettait le manque d'un dispositif Trigger. C'est en fait parfaitement inutile, puisque l'appareil dispose de deux modes entièrement automatiques ,où il se déclenche et s'arrête en fonction de la température sélectionnée . Lorsque l'appareil à refroidir est éteint, les ventilos extracteur s'arrêteront automatiquement . Vous pouvez régler : Le seuil de température de déclenchement . La vitesse des ventilateurs, le rétro éclairage du bandeau d'informations, et les modes de fonctionnement, à savoir : Auto/Smart(intelligent)/ marche forçé / arrêt totale / et une programmation d'alarme en cas de surchauffe . Si il manque quelque chose, ce serait une interface smartphone, mais vu le prix déjà un peu élevé du dispositif, je crains qu'il ne soit alors, vendu encore + cher, ce qui dès lors, me paraitrait prohibitif . Quant au bruit des ventilos, décrit par certains comme "bruyants", si vous les entendez, c'est alors que votre ampli est à un niveau très faible, et dans ce cas, je pose la question : Quelle est l'utilité d'une ventilation ?!? Un peu comme une voiture, si vous roulez à 60 Km/h, quelle serait l'utilité de surventiler ?? Sauf si vous habitez dans une région ou la température extérieure est très élevée, mais en ce cas, je pense que vous seriez équipé d'air conditionné . Par conséquent et pour conclure : Si vous avez un problème de chauffe avec un quelquonque appareil, que ce soit dû soit à son concept, soit comme dans mon cas, à son montage dans un rack , ce système de ventilation autonome répondra à vos attentes ! Autre chose importante que j'ai découvert: J'ai rajouté un ventilateur externe au dessus de mon meuble-rack Hi-Fi .
