The device is bonded (closed) using Pressure Sensitive Addhesive (PSAs) tapes and has acrylic connectors attached on the top surface, to interface with tubings. It can be used for studying fluid flow properties such as flow characteristics, and interaction between two micro-particles inside the fluid, among other things at a micro-level. The aspect ratio (width : depth) of the channels is 1:1. PMMA offers good transparency and chemical inertness. However, it is limited by the number of cycles of experimentation on a single device. For continuous repeatable usage, glass substrates are ideal. Meukron Technologies offers both PMMA and Glass-based microfluidic devices.
