Personally, I would feel pretentious if I wore an expensive designer name after shave to work. I am not a doctor, lawyer, or CEO. I work an average job. The scent is light and cool. It will give a momentary sting if you have damaged your skin during the shaving process. However, the sting is mild and goes away immediately. After a lot of experimentation I've arrived at Proraso green as my aftershave of choice. Like all Proraso products, the price to performance ratio is unmatched. This stuff smells and performs as well as anything twice it's price. When applied to freshly shaved skin the first thing you'll feel is that familiar alcohol burn. It's not as intense as other brands but it will let you know if you were a little rough on your face during your shave. That burn quickly gives way to a nice tingle that then turns into an ice cold menthol blast. Your face will be almost numb and any razor rash will be stopped dead in it's tracks. Those with an aversion to menthol will want to avoid this, it's a real eye opener! You won't need coffee after a jolt of this stuff in the morning! If you overdo it it can be pretty intense but if your shave technique is sound and you don't drown yourself in it you'll be rewarded with a nice icy cool tingling feeling. The smell is great as well. It smells very fresh and clean. The menthol and eucalyptus is present in the aroma and overall it just has a nice clean and fresh scent. It's hard to describe an aroma in print but suffice to say it smells very green! Like any good aftershave the smell settles down nicely after a short while so you won't reek like a used car salesman and it shouldn't interfere with your cologne of choice. Myself, I don't wear cologne because I'm a chef and perfume is frowned upon in a kitchen. I love that I can enjoy the effects of a quality aftershave as well as it's great scent knowing it will dissipate enough before I get to work. The scent doesn't disappear entirely mind you, you just won't reek to high heaven. Someone would have to get close to really smell it. And speaking of that, my wife loves the smell too! It also has wonderful moisturizing properties for an alcohol based splash. After it absorbs in it feels like your skin was moisturized with a creamy type lotion. No drying at all like a lot of splashes. After a dose of Proraso aftershave my skin feels healthy and grateful. Treat yourself to something nice an pick up a bottle!

The shave lotion comes in a classy, sturdy glass bottle, with easy twist off cap. The menthol fragrance is subtle and wont overpower a cologne. The lotion feels soothing on the face but will mildly burn if razor nicks are present. A little lotion goes a long way, so one bottle lasted me several months.
