It works on P1000. Not sure on a O950. Get a reference manual from OTC Ltd Tel No. 01707273773 ( not very expensive) that will tell you.

Will the remote control work in very remote locations/areas where there is no internet or phone signal? Some reviews seem to suggest that it won't.

Hello and thank you for your message. The ML-L7 remote controller is a uses Bluetooth connection in order to connect to the camera. Therefore, the device is using radio waves to connect two devices, not internet. With this being said, if the radio wave signals in the environment are weak, then there may be issues with establishing connections. Therefore, there should not be any major connection issues, however, this is relative to the country you are in and the remote location. Some countries do have their own wireless restrictions and regulations, which a one would need to research and be self informed of, beforehand. I hope this message finds you well.
