Listing shows 10 lbs. & 17 lbs. for weight & 8"x8" & 7.5"x7.5" for base. Thanks** A: Hi Robert... I'm not sure where you are getting the measurements from but here's what I have here. My base measures 8x8 , the globe itself is 19H x 24L and about 13.5 W. The entire piece weights 10.2 lbs. on my scale. I can't give you the weight of the base alone because mine is now assembled so I can't weigh it alone. Hope this is helpful. **Q: Does it have markings in the rings for the time?** A: NO--its main function is primarily decorative **Q: can it be screwed down** A: I do not think you can screw this down as there are no holes in it for that purpose However, it is very sturdy and I have never had a problem with it tipping over **Q: Do the rings move?** A: The rings do move.
