Its length is great for our standard travel cutlery, which is an old airline set - not the ultrashort varieties sold for hiking. • Thick & stable, dust magnet, watertight The silicone's plenty thick, which means we need not fear knife points getting through or rough handling denting the contents. The base is 2" wide and provides a sturdy stand also on uneven surfaces. The silicone's also a bit slip resistant and washes off well.
